Think he’s trying to judge the situation 1 game at a time so he’s only naming the starter for it and seeing how things play out. If Scherzer can only go 4 he may have to change who he utilizes for 5 thru 7 or 8. If Scherzer can go 5, Bochy and Maddux may go with a different pitcher. And that could affect Thursday’s starterI think Max goes 5 innings.
I have no idea what Bochy has in mind, after that. I am not sure he knows. I think that is why he has not named a starting pitcher for Game 4. It makes sense to go with Dunning in Game 4, but who knows. It made sense to go with anyone but Chapman today.
Chapman deserves the Stratton treatment, that I am not sure Stratton deserves.
I think this is Bochys magic number is five innings. If we have a lead I think Heaney comes in depending upon the batterI think Max goes 5 innings.
Bradford would make a lot of sense to come in for Scherzer. Then use Heaney late in the game.I think this is Bochys magic number is five innings. If we have a lead I think Heaney comes in depending upon the batter
If behind maybe we got to Teen. I think they may be trying to save Dunning for game 4
We might get our first Stratton sighting tomorrow
Or maybe Gray unless he is opener game 4
I'm not sure how much to trust Gray to pitch well.Bradford would make a lot of sense to come in for Scherzer. Then use Heaney late in the game.
At this point it does make the most sense to start Dunning in Game 4. The only thing I think could change that, is if Scherer leaves due to injury in the first couple of innings. Although, Gray and Bradford could take care of that.
Yes i like your suggestion re Bradford better. Just wonder if they put a lefty Iin first depending on batterBradford would make a lot of sense to come in for Scherzer. Then use Heaney late in the game.

In 9 innings against the Astros this year, Bradford has a 2.00 ERA. 8 hits, 0 walks and 7 strikeouts.Yes i like your suggestion re Bradford better. Just wonder if they put a lefty Iin first depending on batter
Bradford has been excellent. In 9 innings against the Astros this year, Bradford has a 2.00 ERA. 8 hits, 0 walks and 7 strikeouts.
Abreu, yes. Pressly, no. He’s a soft-tossing junkballer who is prone to getting lit up. He’s one of the weaker parts of their pen. Neris, Montero, and Abreu are all tough as nails.
I think after you face the hard throwers like Montero and Abreu Presley can throw you off with his curve and junk. Your right about the other guys and I see Abreu closing for Houston next yearAbreu, yes. Pressly, no. He’s a soft-tossing junkballer who is prone to getting lit up. They definitely need to be more patient especially Jung with low and away sliderSome bad chases by Jing and Adolis
Lowe not doing anything
Need to look for their pitches more.
Maybe some home cooking will help
It would be nice to get a 8-3 game with no high stress in the 8th and 9th inningsI will be there in person, so if things don’t go well, it will likely be my fault.
I think it’s important that we get a lead on Houston early. The guys just need to be patient with Javier. He can get rattled at timesI think this is Bochys magic number is five innings. If we have a lead I think Heaney comes in depending upon the batter

Christian Javier has had a very mediocre season and can be had, so the good guys SHOULD be able to put up some runs again like they did against poor Valdez. It would be nice to get a 8-3 game with no high stress in the 8th and 9th innings
The big thing is how lopsided of a matchup Javier vs a healthy Scherzer is.Stoked to get the first 2. Although, Asstros are probably the best road team in MLB so we still have a long way to go. Would be nice to get game 3 and really take the wind out of their sails.
Jung was even a mess on defense on two simple grounder. One he whiffed on and another he almost lost it making a force out at 3rd.They definitely need to be more patient especially Jung with low and away slider
That was Jung’s worse game overall that I have seen. I like his bat but he needs to lay off those low and way outside pitchesJung was even a mess on defense on two simple grounder. One he whiffed on and another he almost lost it making a force out at 3rd.
Duran is not on the active rosterI know Bochy likes to go with veterans at times but here's a thought. If he finds it that big a deal to not play Carter against left handed pitching, which I don't agree with but I understand it, I wish he would put Duran in instead.
