Total mystery what we get from Max.

But I think we need 5+ runs maybe more

Glad LeClerc has an off day

I think 4 with a 60-70 pitch limit with Dunning coming in to finish
Might be Perez or Heaney, depending on game situation of course, especially if they want Dunning starting Game 4.

Either way, I agree with everyone here that it would be very surprising to see Scherzer go crazy deep into the game in his first outing back from injury. It’s good that we have multiple options available to finish the game.

Jung and Garcia are guessing and not taking bad pitches.
I would throw breaking pitches that break wide of the plate all day to Jung. His plate discipline is terrible.

Some bad chases by Jing and Adolis
Lowe not doing anything

Need to look for their pitches more.
Maybe some home cooking will help
This is spot-on.

A few of our hitters have their kryptonite that the Astros are exposing. Jung cannot lay off breaking pitches low and away. I think he got 1, maybe 2 TOTAL fastballs all day today. Almost exclusively pitched him with curves, sliders, and sweepers away and out of the zone. And he struck himself out. And Adolis can’t lay off the high heat out of the zone. Every now and then he will manage to get out in front of one and blast it. But too often he strikes himself out on balls near his eye level.

I’ve been very impressed with Leody this postseason. He has elevated his play. And Carter and Seager of course have been really good, too. Need more consistency from Semien at the top of the order.

I think Max goes 5 innings.

I have no idea what Bochy has in mind, after that. I am not sure he knows. I think that is why he has not named a starting pitcher for Game 4. It makes sense to go with Dunning in Game 4, but who knows. It made sense to go with anyone but Chapman today.

Chapman deserves the Stratton treatment, that I am not sure Stratton deserves.

Let's come home and blow them put twice.
We're going to blow them out Wednesday at home 8-3. Scherzer goes 4 innings, giving up 1 run while getting 6 strikeouts. Heaney follows him up by going 3 innings only giving up a solo shot to Alvarez, 3 strikeouts, and Chapman gives up a solo shot in the 8th followed by a shutdown 9th by LeClerc. Fans celebrate by beating on the trash cans all along the concourse.

I will be there in person, so if things don’t go well, it will likely be my fault.

Someone for the love of all that’s holy show Josh Jung what a slider is and how to lay off one. He is striking himself out almost every time up on breaking pitches low and away. They’re not throwing him any strikes.
Jung had better figure it out soon. Th hitting coach needs to get in his ear.

I get on Bochy every now and then but his pitching Chapman is beyond my understanding. He was lucky last night with him and he gives up a dinger today which is not unusual with him lately. Fortunately, LeClerc who has bouts with HR balls has not allowed that to happen. He has pitched in 2 really high pressure situations in front of a hostile crowd and saved the games for us. I hope this becomes a learning experience that will pay big dividends with him as we play on.

And we will. I used to think I couldn't hate anyone more that Steinbrenner's Yankees and then it was the Angels but the Astros have taken that spot by a landslide.
