From yesterday's MLBTRADERUMORS.COM chat:

If the Rangers trade Leody Taveras, which teams might be interested, and what kind of a return would the Rangers get?

Pirates, Giants and Mets could all work there. Angels if they want to move Trout off CF and the Rangers are willing to trade in division. Phillies perhaps, though they might not consider him enough of an upgrade on a similar player in Johan Rojas

5:19
Yankees too if Soto walks and they want to move Judge to RF

5:20
Wouldn't be a huge return coming off the year he had, but he's relatively cheap and controllable for three seasons so there'd be moderate interest

Also from the MLBTR chat:

Chris

What can the Cards realistically get for Ryan Helsley? Baltimore seems a natural fit but as a Cards fan I was interested in what type of prospects he would likely get given he’s the most attractive of the upcoming sell off.

Anthony Franco
4:06
I think he'd net a back of the Top 100 type prospect, maybe someone just off. It'd be a good headliner, though, a prospect who fits comfortably in the top 10 in the STL system

4:07
The only drawback is the one year of team control, but Helsley's awesome. Orioles make sense, sure. He could go to any contender really. Phils, Blue Jays, Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers, Rangers all work

But ar the same time, "minimum 550 to 650 at-bats and keep them in the lineup no matter what until they have reached the lower number." Right?
okay cut it in half and it still makes more sense than your 2 at bats and if they swing

I was just trying to be as ridiculous as you were when you couldn't help but be ridiculous, sarcastic, bitter and crotchety. You often lapse into those type of responses instead of discussing something in a civilized manner. I know, I should get off of your lawn.

Cole and Bellinger will both be free agents
Cole's contract is still subject to the Yankees kicking in for another year. Bellinger didn't opt out. He is staying put

I think the Rangers have a solid rotation at 1 through 4. They need a good #5 starter, or maybe a good #4 starter at best.

I would have no problem with trusting guys they have in that spot, but it seems certain they will sign someone. If money were no issue then I would be in favor of going after one of the top 4 starting pitchers in free agency. Unfortunately, money us a huge issue with this team.

wasn't trying to do anything but state the obvious. you need to give prospects at least a year at the major league level to get a solid look at their potential

stick with going after 2 or 3 late inning relievers. think starting pitching will be okay

From Evan Grant:

The Rangers have zeroed in on Tampa Bay’s director of baseball operations Cole Figueroa for an assistant general manager’s role, two people with knowledge of the process told the Dallas Morning News Saturday. Figueroa, 37, spent parts of three seasons as an infielder with Tampa Bay, the New York Yankees and Pittsburgh from 2014-16, but has been the Rays’ director of baseball operations for the last three seasons. He was previously the Rays’ assistant director of hitting development.

From Newberg:

Mark Feinsand (MLB.com) ranks 27 free agents, suggesting the Rangers could be fits for LHP Blake Snell (No. 3), LHP Max Fried (No. 5), Bieber (No. 12), Eovaldi (No. 14), and LHP Yusei Kikuchi (No. 20).
