I think Smith has the most potential of anyone in our system who is currently ready to play in the big leagues in the OF. I fully expect to see both him and Duran starting in the OF together by July 1.

There are more teams who tried to "just get there because anything can happen" that are home watching too.

The odds are always better by doing it right.

That will be fine. I have never expected Taveras or Thompson to be longterm starters here. Having them on the bench eventually would be fine.

Re getting three or doing it right

Just think there is value with starting a winning culture and getting playoff experience. That helps. Also think that no one thought LAD would not be in WS. And with the expanded playoffs the element of luck is more in play so extra lottery tickets are not all bad. But of course I want us to continue to build and not sacrifice talent for a WC spot

You have to think Houston wins the WS but anything is possible
