I agree.Heineman seems to be a better answer as a 4th OF'er because he can play all 3 positions plus he can play 1st base. DDJ is basically a CF'er
it doesn't make sense to me to keep both and I would also include DDJ. we have Calhoun basically set in LF and Gallo should be set in RF with either a free agent, trade or Santana in CF. we can't do that with Mazara, Choo and DDJ tying up outfield positions
Well with 4 bench spots anything is possibleDDJ is a guy I would keep as a CF 4OF option, in case Santana has to be deployed elsewhere due to injuries, DDJ is useful as a pinch runner defensive replacement type at this point
Well with 4 bench spots anything is possible
We'll have to disagree on that. Heineman can cover more positions which is important for a bench playerI'd rather have DDJ than Heineman on the bench
Well with the need to carry a backup catcher, 1 or 2 utility infielders to cover 1st, 2nd, ss and 3rd and a 4th of'er having a bench player who can play all 3 outfield positions plus 1st becomes more important than a bench player who is basically just a cf'erI'd rather have DDJ than Heineman on the bench
Not sure about the rule but I think the new extra player has to be a pitcherWith a more veteran, and less fragile staff I wonder if we will go with 7 relievers instead of 8. Maybe the new rule about relievers having to either finish the inning or pitch to three batters might influence that as well.
Choo may have something to say about that.Trade Choo for whatever you can get for him and be done with it
Angels are pursuing Rendon now, according to Jon Heyman. Of course, Heyman has always been little more than a mouthpiece for Scott Boras, so take it for what it’s worth. Could be the Boras camp trying to get Rangers to up their offer, could be the Angels putting out false info to scare a division rival, or it could be legit.
Choo may have something to say about that.
Since Arizona is interested in Mazara, he may be waiting to see what happens there.Actually Choo 'will' have something to say. But I honestly don't know why Choo would want to be here considering it's his last year anyway, we're not going to be terrific this season, and his playing time is going to be cut.
You just have to convince him.Choo may have something to say about that.
well if we make perfectly clear that his position and playing time are going to be directly affected and he has a choice of accepting it or finding another team he might accept moving onChoo may have something to say about that.
Nothing I find about it says rhat. There is supposed to be a limit to the number of pitchers you can carry. Not sure about the rule but I think the new extra player has to be a pitcher
