Nothing I find about it says rhat. There is supposed to be a limit to the number of pitchers you can carry.

okay I wasn't sure about it but it seemed logical with a 26-man roster to carry 13 positional and 13 pitchers

it makes no sense to keep both. if we play Calhoun, Santana and Gallo in the OF and Choo at DH where is Mazara going to play? or do you plan on playing at a position he's never played or have him sitting on the bench?

To me it is logical to wait and see if your 14th position player would be more helpful or if your 13th pitcher would be more helpful. I guess it would depend on who those guys are and how the team is structured.

I wholeheartedly agree but Choo is also going to be the hardest to move with his no-trade clause and Mazara is the one COF that becomes the most expendable because of it

Evidently talks between the Rangers and Marlins didn’t advance. Craig Mish of MLB Network Radio tweets that the Fish were turned off by the asking price for Mazara, a former top prospect

Then 10 months later we won't have either of them.

Choo would be harder to trade, but you have to do hard things sometimes.

he probably doesn't but the team needs to push him to accept that the team doesn't need or want him in 2020

I wonder if we told Arizona they could have their pick of Mazara/Choo/Calhoun and a prospect or two, they would send us Robbie Ray. They’ve supposedly been dangling Ray for a while now. He’s not an ace, but he’s a very legit #2 with huge strikeout totals. Walks are the only real concern with him which keep him out of the “ace” discussion.

Sign Rendon, bring Chirinos back, and acquire Ray, and that would be a successful offseason on several fronts. Upgrade the rotation? Check. Upgrade at catcher (almost impossible not to)? Check. Add a superstar franchise bat to anchor the lineup for years to come? Check. And clear up the left-handed outfield logjam? Check.

Choo is the better D/H. Would rather keep Maz another year but Choo is in control so Maz is odd man out.

Who says anything on this board will happen other than the person saying it? It is an opinion. Why do you have so much of a problem with this particular opinion?

I have stated why I feel the way I do. It simply makes no sense to get rid of a player so we can keep a player who will be gone in less than 10 months. If Choo was head and shoulders better than Maz I would understand, but that is not the case at all. Maz may very well outperform Choo this year by a significant margin.

I don't have a problem with your opinion but you think forcing Choo to leave is no problem. I think you are dreaming in that regard. If Choo wants to stay then you are having a problem with your own opinion.
