I wonder what their plans for howie Kendrick would’ve been?
He would've literally played everywhere except catcher, ss and cf

I was so glad when he left the Angels. He would've literally played everywhere except catcher, ss and cf
Good summation. The rangers signed 2 under the radar starters with upside while not breaking the bank. I like this actually. These moves make it so we don’t have to rely on “ the kids”. I mean palumbo, Burke, and Hearn can now go to triple A and get more seasoning without having to worry about being called up for an extended period of time.
allard will probably be the #5 guy. He’s a pretty good #4 or #5 from what I saw last year. The kid is a fighter and he doesn’t just walk people.
They didn’t try to get Ryu or Bumgarner because then we wouldn’t be able to afford Rendon.
From mlbtraderumors:
This type of deal for Lyles would have been unthinkable just a couple months ago. The 29-year-old struggled through the first half of 2019 as a member of the Pirates, with whom he posted a dismal 5.36 ERA across 82 1/3 innings. But Lyles turned his season (and maybe his career) around after the Brewers acquired him from the Pirates before the July 31 trade deadline. The Milwaukee version of Lyles put up a stellar 2.45 ERA over 58 2/3 innings, though the rest of his numbers weren’t really all that impressive. Lyles logged 9.8 K/9, 3.6 BB/9 and a 4.79 FIP as a Pirate, and he recorded 8.6 K/9, 3.4 BB/9 and a 4.42 FIP after heading to the Brewers.
what would be the tradeVery interesting. If the second half Lyles is the real deal them that would be great. We have not broke the bank yet, lost any prospects via trade, and sets us up for a Rendon signing. Plan B may be a trade with the Yankees.
I have to admit i'm very confused about why we would trade Minor during the off-season. if you made this suggestion prior to the trade deadline I might understand it but before the season even starts seems counter-productiveYeah, once something has went back and forth 2 or 3 times it is easy to come into it and miss something. Then to murky the waters further me and you had discussed another completely different scenario regarding trading Minor just a couple of days ago. Lots of room for confusion.
it's an okay rotation which is what most teams would like. I wouldn't be surprised to see them add at least 1 more rotational piece like maybe Alex Wood or Michael Wacha before they are done but without addressing 3rd it would be like pissing in the wind.
Only time will judge this decision making.
So, you think Allard, Burke and Palunbo all will start in AAA?it's an okay rotation which is what most teams would like. For their 3B, Miguel Andujar.what would be the trade
I don't know but when is too many options a bad thing? but I do think Burke and Palumbo will both start at AAA. Allard will in all likelihood be in the rotation especially if the Rangers do decide to trade Minor this off-seasonSo, you think Allard, Burke and Palunbo all will start in AAA?
okay but only if we don't get Rendon. and what would be the package we offer for Andujar? For their 3B, Miguel Andujar.
It is very interesting. If pitching 3-5 pans out we may get us a good 3B.Very interesting. If the second half Lyles is the real deal them that would be great. We have not broke the bank yet, lost any prospects via trade, and sets us up for a Rendon signing. Plan B may be a trade with the Yankees.
Mendez has no options left so either we put him in the pen or trade him or release him. Hernandez has options so I figure he will be at AAA. I would expect Jurado to also be part of a trade packageWill Jurado, Mendez and Hernandez all be relievers at the big league level for us? The AAA rotation will be crowded.
