I think so but of course that is not the hope.

Seriously.....you like to push things .....it probably won't matter if that happens next season. Maybe some injury puts on the 60 day and he allows a rehab.

What happens if he has figured it out? Do you move him up in the order? Ha. Me... just wondering how the season starts. Maybe Odor falls off his horse and pulls a Dutch Holland.

I am fleshing it out to see how it works out. You said they would and should give him an opportunity at the beginning of the season and then bench him a few weeks into the season if he struggles again. I simply wanted to know how that would play out.

I take it that with your mild pushback here, that that means you have no idea about how that scenario would work out. I don't see how it could work out either. That is why I said a couple of months back that they would have to make a decision on Odor in the offseason, and stick with it all year long. There is no logical place to put him other than starting at 2B. He does not fit on the bench only playing one position. Barring him getting a long term injury, he is stuck playing 2B no matter how he hits. The way they are handling the situation is a very poor way to handle it, as is evidenced by neither of us seeing any way to be able to bench him.

As far as moving him up in the order, I believe that will be done when the season starts.

Bench: DeShields, IKF, COF/!B Free Agent, Mathis

If they decide to go with a 5 man bench I think the extra guy would be a journeyman SS type who could maybe play another position or two.

Not sure I said should but if they believe he actually learned something and he has a brand new approach then I certainly can not blame that either. But yes he certainly does it appear to be a utility player.
Somewhat a gamble if you play him or release him which is another option.
Or trade him at a heavy discount
