I think Saban could do a good job in the NFL if he had a team worth a shit. The Dolphins were pure shit when he got there, the best QB they had was Daunte Cullpepper and he suffered a bad injury in Sabans first season, which he never really recovered from.

The year before Saban got to Miami they had 4 wins, his first season there they went 9-7 barely missing the playoffs, and that's with a shit team with no QB. The next season he ended up benching Culpepper halfway through and they managed just 6 wins, still better than the 4 wins prior to his arrival.

The year following Saban's departure, Miami went 1-15.

Can't all be blamed on Saban.

He is at Alabama until retirement which might be sooner than others think.

I personally think it's at the end of this current contract.

Which is 8 years from now.

AY AY AY All of you sthu talkin' bout the great coach of Alabama. You don't see me running around screaming Les Miles is going to Michigan now do ya? Jinx another coach into leaving a program...Like Muschamp.

I'm not saying he is leaving to another program. I will say he is about to do something that will put a stamp on his legacy as one of the greats and after he does that he will slip away into life of rich retirement and consulting his inner circle of coaching friends from time to time if they seek out advice.

If we win the NC this year, it would start to get boring knowing you have nothing left to prove. I could see him retiring after another NC.

However, if we do win the title this year, that would be 4 for him, just 2 away from the almighty Bear Bryant. Maybe he wants to beat the Bear?

Actually I heard he's going to Wisconsin. It was on the radio so you know it's true.

my point exactly....go to NFL, be middle of the pack, or worse, lose job after a few years, jump to another team etc

or stay at Bama, in the NCAA where he is top dog, set for life financially, and basically do whatever he wants

Wasn't this the same thing people said about Pete Carroll?
