I guarantee you that Watt if asked would have said not to do this. Guarantee.

A guy who gets first downs on offense helps, not hurts, a defense.

Houston has attracted shootouts. And no team is 100% intact. There are weaknesses and being a pass-first offense has not helped Houston make it past the divisional round. If you had to choose between having Hopkins and another so-so defense or trading Hopkins and having a top 10 defense, which would you want? That money can be used for help for Watt. DJ is better than Carlos Hyde and Duke Johnson. The Saints traded Cooks and it didn't bite them one bit. It helped them.

Also, Watson is not a good enough QB to manage a pass-first offense. He's good, but not enough for what the scheme offers.

In before the Texans trade Watson for Trubisky straight up @RobToxin

That's too much value in return for O'Buttchin's abilities.

It would be Watson and a fifth for Trubusky's backup and a second.

My immune system being built up by years of O'Buttchin's playcalling and decision making has had its benefits, however.

While the rest of you die from Coronavirus, I will be the healthiest human on Earth!

Dear Arizona Cardinals

Your defense is trash. Your not getting the division.

Thanks for those two beatdown

Sincerely

am I the only one that doesn't think the trade was THAT bad for the Texans??? Sure david Johnson is not what he was, but he is still a good receiving back who can actually run between the tackles... He is so much better than what they had at rb…

and with a mobile QB, and a bad offensive line that receiving back that can run is such a huge positive...

Plus, they got a second round pick in this trade...

is it a bad trade?? yes!!! you don't give up arguably the best Receiver in the game for an aging and injury risk RB... But if David Johnson is healthy, they will actually be BETTER for next season IMO... and again, they did get a second round pick in this deal...
the bigger thing is his huge salary. Cards just unloaded it and got a top tier WR.

A brilliant move by Keim.

Is that a future letter?

Because if I remember correctly, the cards pounded the Seahawks in Seattle, toward the end of the year, when a potential "bye" was on the line.

hmmm

Hopkins & a 4th for DJ & a 2nd round pick.

Why would you get rid of Hopkins?

I'm late to the party for sure but I heard that Hopkins wants money like Jones and Bryant and the Texans weren't willing to pay him... How many RB have the Texans traded for in the last 2 years?

Things are shaping up well at this point.

Stole Hopkins from Houston
Dumped DJ's huge salary
Transition Tagged Drake.

Now they can focus on the OL and DL in the draft.

Hopkins on Fitzgerald

"He's given me great advice about being a pro's pro, about how to carry yourself on the field and off the field,” Hopkins told ESPN in 2018 about Fitzgerald. "So, the best advice he has given me was just to be a professional all around, not just when the lights are on.

"He's who I look up to as a player, as a person off the field."
