So buttchin trades away a perrenial 100 catch/ 1000+ yd WR who is among the best in the game for a RB that although very talented, has injury concerns and appears to be the poster boy for the 30 yr old RB wall, possibly sooner. Dumb move for the Texans, imo. And the NFCW just got even tougher.

Wow. Idiotic trade for the Texans.

Watson cannot be happy about this either.

Damn so it’s starting to look like I don’t have to cry when the Seahawks lose to the Cardinals at home, because they might actually be good

The draft pick compensation for a player of Hopkins' talent is ridiculous. But one major factor is that Hopkins wants a new deal, so that might have limited the number of teams interested in trading for him.

Then again...I am assuming Butt Chin checked with other teams.

So does buttchin have insidertrading info?

Does Hopkins has some incurable disease or severe arthritic fingers & hands or something? Has he gone all AB on us & lost his mind?

Love it.

I figured DJ was a sunk cost for 2020 who might get dealt at the trade deadline for a late round pick. To be able to unload his $10m guaranteed salary & only a second for one of the best WRs in the NFL, is a Houdini like move for Steve Keim.

am I the only one that doesn't think the trade was THAT bad for the Texans??? Sure david Johnson is not what he was, but he is still a good receiving back who can actually run between the tackles... He is so much better than what they had at rb…

and with a mobile QB, and a bad offensive line that receiving back that can run is such a huge positive...

Plus, they got a second round pick in this trade...

is it a bad trade?? yes!!! you don't give up arguably the best Receiver in the game for an aging and injury risk RB... But if David Johnson is healthy, they will actually be BETTER for next season IMO... and again, they did get a second round pick in this deal...

Cardinals acquired WR DeAndre Hopkins and a fourth-round pick from the Texans in exchange for RB David Johnson and a second-round pick.
Staggering, stupefying. Bill O'Brien's foolish loss is the Cardinals' immense gain. Hopkins had a "down" 2019 as he caught "only" 104 balls for 1,165 yards and seven touchdowns, but there was quite literally zero evidence he had lost a step. The best body control receiver in the entire NFL still does not turn 28 until June. It's a grievous misstep for Houston and gift of a lifetime for Kyler Murray, who lacked consistent weapons as a rookie. As was the case with Hopkins and Deshaun Watson, he should work beautifully with Murray when the sophomore is outside the pocket. Murray also has the cannon necessary to find Hopkins down the sideline from the pocket. Even with the change of scenery, Hopkins remains a locked-in, top-three WR1. Bill O'Brien, call your attorney

Texans acquired RB David Johnson, a 2020 second-round pick, and a 2021 fourth-rounder from the Cardinals in exchange for DeAndre Hopkins and a 2020 fourth-round selection.
Blockbuster. The Texans will also take on every last penny of Johnson's contract, which includes $10.2 million fully guaranteed in 2020. Houston can save $9 million against the cap by outright releasing Johnson the following year. More to the point, Houston's offense now heads into the new league year with Will Fuller, Kenny Stills, Keke Coutee, and warm bodies available in three-wide sets while both Duke and David Johnson shore up their backfield. The declining 28-year-old was undoubtedly slowed by injuries last year, limping to an underwhelming 3.7 yards per carry on 94 attempts, but he'll at the very least have an every-down shot at rejuvenation given coach/GM/Thanos Bill O'Brien's stubborn tendencies. The hits just keep on coming for Deshaun Watson, who's tasked with even more hills to climb in order to succeed next season.

IF he's healthy, that remains to be seen...

...yeah, it was pretty stupid. I'd have held fast to see what else Arizona would send my way
