And we kept a good cheaper guy in Merriweather. So where is the real problem. If we had signed Clemons, it means Thomas and Rambo get little to no play most likely. And Clemons is not an upgrade over Merriweather. If he were that good, the Dolphins would have resigned him. And trust me i get plenty of Dolphins coverage down here. Most Dolphins fans are not stressing losing him.

I don't think anybody is saying we are "OK" at safety and most here would like an upgrade but we don't see any available. Most are saying Clemons is not an upgrade to Merriweather on this team and 30 other teams in the NFL agree with us.

Ryan Clark has proven to be better than Clemons in his career.

Dude... numbers dont even support that line of thinking. In three more games Clemons ammased a whopping 24 more tackles than Merriweather. Or 8 a game. And he had one INT on the season to Merriweathers 2. For their careers merriweather has 15 INts to Clemons 4. Im not seeing Clemons as an upgrade over Merriweather.

Nope work has me down south. I get home on contract about a month or two out of the year and try to make it during the season. Im actually in florida, so I have a unique perspective on players coming out of Miami and tampa.

Neither is a long term answer. Clark is every bit as good as Clemons but a better leader. Clemons has done nothing in his career and that's why he signed a one year contract last season and is on a crappy 2 year now.

dean I was teasing you. As far as safety goes the Redskins have been clueless. Safety is not supposed to be a hard position to fill. That may be less true in todays NFL but the Skins were thought to be nuts when they spent high No. 1 picks on Taylor and Landry. They had both saftey positions filled but Taylor was killed and they let Clark walk. Since then the only continuity is Reed Doughty. I love Reed he is a football players, football player. We all know he is a situational player though. I am not however for signing every available guy.
