You guys are crazy if you don't think this will sell out. Both schools fill their stadiums each week regardless of records. The fanbases are both extremely passionate. They will add some bleacher seating around the field to fill in some of the space and to create a covered area to put temporary locker rooms. It will be a hell of a game.
First, 160,000 seats for two teams who aren't exactly doing that well - just three years to improve? Wouldn't be shocked if they couldn't sell it out. S
yeah now that ive had some time to dwell on it this is a bad idea.
1. its two teams who are not well known for their insanely large fanbases or for being a contender right now. by no means is this an intriguing matchup
2. its a terrible fan experience. theres a huge reason why the NCAA is cutting back on basketball tourny games being held in football stadiums. attendance sucks, it kills the quality of the game and it looks horrible on TV. this is pretty much the exact same thing in a nutshell

Explain to me how two teams that routinely sell out 100K and 66K stadiums 100 miles from Bristol won't come close to selling this out?
Don't be pissed we are going to break attendance records you all covet so much.
We are sure as hell trending a lot better than Michgan over the last decade. One bad season? Don't you remember the thorough ass kicking we have your team in NO. You won the game but you saw it and know your team was manhandled all game long. Thank our inept play calling for a win.
The whining of Meeecheegin fans is so funny.
One bad season and we're suddenly 'not doing that well?' From 2000-2011 VT won the 5th most games of any program. We're 5-1 now with one of the youngest teams in all of cfb. We'll be good.
1. combining stadium sizes like that is redneck logic
2. its off campus for both schools
3. the fan experience sucks

Even so, you're playing Tennessee. And in case you don't remember, you couldn't even fill your seat allotment at the last BCS bowl your team appeared in - and you were an 11 win team at the time.
Explain number 1 to me please. You realize Bristol is less than two hours from both campuses right? It's an attendance record. Don't get so sad about it. It means nothing. It's a cool concept. Of course the fan experience will suck. Having been to two winter classics (including the night one at a football stadium) the fan experience sucks as well as far as seeing the game goes. All that goes along with it and the experience outside of the game makes it special though and they sell out in about a minute.
...because all of our fans bought the tickets for cheaper from ticket sites. I didn't see any empty seats.
Talk about redneck logic....
Michigan fans hate this idea. Shocker.
