The only thing Stafford has proven is that he can’t win in the playoffs. Yes, I would take my chances keeping my first round picks.

What are you going to get with picks in the 20s? Not very likely for a franchise QB to replace Goff.

That's what a lot of people are missing in this.

No one; because he’s not. He’s never proven he can play well in big moments. The Rams overpaid for an old QB that has never proven anything other than he can put up pretty stats.

#4 among active QBs in 4th quarter comebacks (31 since 2009), behind Ben (35 since 2004), Brees (36 since 2001) and Brady (39 since 2000). Given the differential in years played, he's right up there with elite QBs on much better teams.

May have been worth it to a Colts team now down to hoping the Jets trade Sam Darnald. Cause they are now literally a really good roster with no QB
Lot of good available QB's once FA starts.

Rodgers was in the 20's

(in before GnG) LOL

Brady wasn't lol. There are always outliers, but few and far between. Last year the top option would've been Jordan Love, Drew Lock in 2019, Lamar Jackson in 2018 (although not exactly a McVay QB), Kizer in 2017, Lynch in 2016, etc.

When a Qb carries a non playoff team into the playoffs. they are expected to lose. Always amazes me when a QB gets all the blame for losing in playoffs when they are on non playoff team.

No offense

but there was a pretty blatant non call that would have won him a playoff game in Dallas some years back

Maybe a few, depending on your needs...

Dak
Winston
Fitz
Brissett
Trubisky
Tyrod
Dalton
Cam
Rosen (this guy needs a break somewhere)
Brandon Allen
I see Dak and a bunch of guys who should be backups, imo. Winston could be interesting on the right team, though.

I don’t count Dak, he’s the only quality guy there

every other guy on the list is best suited as a backup

but the way it’s going, one of them could end up being the Colts starter

Dude, Tim Tebow won a playoff game with a team that was 4-12 the year before. If Tebow could do it, Stafford definitely should have been able.

And he's 16 games below .500 as a starter and 0-3 in the playoffs. 4th quarter comebacks mean absolutely nothing if you can't win games that mean something.

Dude. That defense was awesome & I dont care what the stats say.
Tebow was the king of 3 & outs & that defense kept them in it all season long.
Tebow passed for like 1700 yds
Leading rusher was like 1200 yds

Stafford didnt have Defenses or Running games.

Tebow isnt the reason why they won (unless you are counting just one play in the whole game)
Stafford isnt the reason the Lions lose in the playoffs.

You must be the type that says Dilfer is better than Marino analogy.

Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer reports the Panthers offered the Lions the No. 8 overall pick plus a "later" selection for Matthew Stafford.
Per Breer, the Washington Football Team also offered the No. 19 pick plus a third-rounder. NBC's Peter King reports at least one other team offered a first-rounder. Teams were coming hard in the paint for a player a week shy of his 33rd birthday, one who has had some injury issues creep up over the past two years. Despite his question marks, it cannot be debated that Stafford's talent is a plane higher than Jared Goff's.

They were literally 4-14 with him on the bench and 9-7 with him as the starter, but sure... he "wasn't" the reason they won.
exactly.
I never seen a QB do so little & get so much of the credit.
he passed for a whopping 1729 yds with a 46.5% cmp rate.
I wonder what that years team could have done with a real QB.

In all of the their wins. The defense gave up over 24 pts once.
Hell one of their losses they only gave up 7! & still lost!

Oh. And one other thing.
he fumbled 14 times! That might make Wentz look good!
that is more than one a game started.
Tebow 14 fumbles. Rest of entire team 18.
