It appears that Brady and the Patriots have had a couple of meetings and things are starting to get a bit tense. BB is involved and he's sticking to the BB way of doing things and Tom Brady's future with the Patriots in hanging in the balance.

Tom Brady is i the final year of his contract and will be paid $15M even though he's counting $27M against the cap. He's been underpaid for the majority of his career and has often renegtiatedand taken a home town discount to allow the Patriots to have wiggle room or purchase a piece that is missing.

No one is 100% sure what's being discussed. Brady will not say and of course BB and the Krafts are tight lipped. The assumption is that Brady wants three years after this one and will attempt to play until he's 45.
It's also assumed that the Patriots are talking two years because they fear being on the hook for big money if they give him three years and hehits the wall or gets hurt. Tom E. Curran is reporting that the discussions are not "collegial" or is pretty much saying that things are starting to get a bit surly.

If the Patriots decide to hold off and franchise him, the cost will be $33M and in 2021 around $36M. Would Brady sign the Franchise Tender? Curran doesn't believe he would and it might force the Patriots into a lousy trade scenario and certainly would cause a lot of unrest within the team.

Trading him could result in a huge windfall. There are teams that would give up players and multiple first round picks to have Brady steering their ship. There are a lot of teams that also give him a guaranteed 3 year $120M - $150M contract.

Or the Patriots could play out 2019 and let him walk out into the market and see what he could bring for himself and tell him that they would match it and even go 5% or 10% above his highest offer and length guaranteed.

Maybe it's time that Johnathan Kraft take the controls and do the right thing..........3 years $120M guaranteed. Brady would be the highest paidprofessional athlete on the planet at $40M a year and no one deserves it more.

I don’t see any team giving up “players and multiple 1st round picks” for Brady. He’s too old and was barely a top 10 QB stats wise. But, some teams are dumb.

There's no way Brady's contract doesn't go exactly the same way the rest of his contracts have gone. Team friendly with a nice signing bonus. Probably two years with an extension coming at the end. It will be quietly reported in a few weeks.

I've always liked Tom Curran but unfortunately he's been on the wrong side of several Pats related stories recently. Apparently, being a lying piece of shit is now a mandatory requirement in "journalism".

At his age there is no way he gets a huge numbers deal makes no sense. I suspect a 2 year extension cap friendly and a Bob Kraft Hand Job

It would be a major PR disaster if Brady was sent away to Denver or Washington or SF, and all the team got was a few draft picks.

My guess is that some multi-year extension will be agreed upon. The team is probably trying to negotiate something like what Green Bay tried to offer to Brett Favre, where he relinquishes playing duties after a fixed time and instead becomes some sort of highly paid 'ambassador' for the team. Who knows? Perhaps Brady is interested in an assistant GM position or QB coach; he's certainly smart enough to do either, even if he's too dumb to do other things.

Can't we go back and just talk about when Gronk is returning?
