As bad as Buttercup's rep is with the fans and his opponenets, look at his stats and record. He has very few PIM's and I don't think he's ever been suspended. He just likes to hit a lot.

As far as Oilers fans are concerned, a lot of them want Tambellini gone, but they fail to recognize the true problem which is Kevin Lowe. Nobody can convince me that he isn't the true GM of the team (he promoted himself to president if you recall). This is a guy who had no experience as a general manager prior to being handed the Oilers job.

/I still hope Regier (probably won't be around long enough though) or some other GM puts in an offer sheet for RNH or Justin Schultz if the Oil fail to lock them up.

He,along with guys like Rinaldo,Torres,Cooke are all tagged.That one dirty hit,questionable hit,or suspension,now means that anything that is borderline will not go in their favor.

they are not a difficult team and fanbase to dislike.
it starts with the decades-old "City of Champions" sign on the edge of town.

the young media is very intensely homeristic ... they think they play on the team ... dont know if its because they are in isolation separated by the rest of cdn civilization by snow forts

and the older members of edmonton media are senile and think that they manage the team ... and from the bits i read from them ... alot seem like management mouthpieces (ie Kevin Lowe feeds them info to get his narrative across)
