How about those high scoring Oilers - 16 games played and 37 goals scored (only team will less goals is LA with 36, but they have played one less game).

/Lest we forget, 6 of those Oilers goals came last Saturday night against Colorado.

One high draft pick, and they can turn it around.

But they hit the daily double by landing Justin 'Bobby Orr' Schultz, he was going to score 2 goals a game, setup two more goals per game, and cure ebola fever simply by waving his stick in the air.

I would not say that was "blowing him up".

I would say that he blew his knee out. That was a dirty hit, I know Clusterfuck is no angel but I hope someone makes Hall eat his teeth for that.
I didn't mean to imply it was clean
circle March 3rd for the rematch (If Hall isn't still suspended).

another thought: who was on the ice for Minny?
just tying to figure our why Hall left the ice under his own power.

Brodziak was right on Hall for a quick 'word' - but so where the refs.

This. Still, you'd think someone would at least throw a gloved punch down his throat.

Hall's hearing will be by phone, thus it will be a maximum five game suspension (not that I think he will get that much though). Two games would be good.

btw ...

Fines and Suspensions – Instigator in Final Five Minutes of
Regulation Time (or Anytime in Overtime) - A player or goalkeeper
who is deemed to be the instigator of an altercation in the final five (5)
minutes of regulation time or at anytime in overtime, shall
automatically be suspended for one game. The Director of Hockey
Operations will review every such incident and may rescind the
suspension based on a number of criteria. The criteria for the review
shall include, but not limited to, the score, previous incidents, etc. The
length of suspension will double for each subsequent offense. This
suspension shall be served in addition to any other automatic
suspensions a player may incur for an accumulation of three or more
instigator penalties.

When the one-game suspension is imposed, the Coach shall be
fined $10,000 – a fine that will double for each subsequent incident.

No team appeals will be permitted either verbally or in writing
regarding the assessment of this automatic suspension.

Would you consider this a similar hit to the one Hall gave out last night? Shanny gave Porter four games.

I thought Mike Yeo hit the nail on the head when he mentioned that if it had been Clutterbuck hitting Hall in this fashion the hockey world would be making a HUGE deal about it. Hall deserves the same scrutiny.

Actually, you could make the argument that the Hall hit is worse because at least Booth was still in possession of the puck. I'm starting to think that two games might be a little light, double it to four.

/disclamer: biased Flames fan.

I'd give Hall 8 to 10 games. I think he intended to injure Clutterbuck. I expect a 2 game suspension though.

only thing I can say is different is Porter had his leg out for almost 5 to 7 feet before the collision. Hall just lined him up for the hit and went knee to knee LATE after the puck was gone. split seconds yes but knee to knee. hard to prove intent on this one but so reckless by their very own definition and precedent at LEAST 2 games and max 4

agreed

you could also make a case for Porter actually leading with the shoulder yet he still got 4 games

Hall knew what he was doing ... it was open ice ... he had time to measure it and set up what he was doing

now that the monetary fines have increased with the new cba it seems that lengths game suspension will be less severe :noidea:

I watched last night's game Dash and that kid, along with RNH and Eberle were dragging their asses defensively. Say what you want about Hall; he is kinda out of control and a hazard to himself and apparently others, but he competes hard. Those other three would just try the fancy play and when it inevitably didn't work (ya know because this is the NHL) they would hang their head. Then it was the put the head down and make it look like I'm backchecking while skating about 4 km/hr.

On one play Schultz didn't even give the illusion of trying to get back to help breakup an odd man rush that was created by his foolish pinch.

The Coilers need two young, straight-forward guys in their top 6 forwards. Guys who skate hard and just go the net. Ironically they need a young Ryan Smyth type of player or two.

Hall could have easily just dropped back into a defensive posture and started skating backwards as the wild came up ice ... 3 minutes left in the game :noidea: ... but he wanted to send a message ... so he stepped up and buried him
