Boomer Sooner isn't the best fight song by far but it's certainly the most recognizable in college football. Anyone who hears the first bar of Boomer Sooner immediately thinks of OU. The best part of the song is it's short so it can be played 100 times during one game with minimal effort. I can only imagine how sick other fans get hearing it played ad nauseam.

I will recuse myself from voting for Notre Dame (because I am biased, and it buys me an extra spot.)

1. Army - on to the fray!
2. Minnesota - because it was used as the theme song to ABC's Saturday College Football back in the 70s
3. Georgia Tech - because it actually mentions a main major study at Georgia Tech
4. Michigan - champions of the (mid)west
5. Maine (Stein Song) - representing all songs that mention drinking, which is what college sports are REALLY about

honorable mentions:
UTEP - c'mon ... "Out in the west Texas town of El Paso ..." it is either annoying or awesome - depnding on your mood.
Wisconsin (because who doesn't like cheese?)
Washington State (because it's cool, and the Cougs have the best Game Day tradition ever)

And in the interest of full disclosure, I refuse to mention Southern Cal ... because it is Southern Cal.

Oh - and it should also be noted that Tulane and Louisiana Tech have damned near the same fight songs, as do Cal and UCLA. Okay, Cal and UCLA *do* have the same song, but that is understandable. Even though UCLA began as a regional campus of San Jose State, which happens to be the oldest public university on the west coast. But that is a factoid for another day.
