it will be interesting to hear all the yankee fans who whined about Canos deal spin them blowing up the market and way overbidding for this guy who has never pitched one pitch in the majors.

I imagine those Yankees fans will be very pissed off, I was fine with them saying bye bye to Cano.:yahoo:

Seattle paid enough to get Cano away from the yankees. They knew it would take overpaying to get him and the yankees really could not match that dollar amount. He will be traded within 5 years.

This is bad news for ARod. Uncle Buddy will need to make sure the Spanks are let off the hook for the contract they signed with him to be able to afford Tanaka.

I don't think the Yankees care anymore about the Luxury Tax with Tanaka being posted.

and people were idiots to believe what they said

On one hand, there is believing what they said. ON the other, much more fun hand, is putting words back in mounths, and, watching the backtracking......

At no point did they (the Yankees, not fans or analysts) ever say they would sacrifice winning to meet the goal, the disclaimer that they would go over to field a competitive team was there from day one. If you don't believe me, ask google.

It's an affliction that I have, kind of a disease.

As I feel one is only as good as ones word, and, as I expect myself to live up to this, I actually then expect it from others as well.

That's a sentiment I admire, but I don't think that's Cashman's (and maybe Randy Levine's, now that I think of it) main concern anymore.

Honestly, I think if the Yankees don't win, or come very close to winning the Big Show, heads are going to roll in a major way.

I would be surprised if it ever was, in any way.

Well, I think they should. But, i'm not sold that they will.

But,......but,..... THEY SAID.........:laugh3:

All "They" said is they wanted to get under the threshold for the luxury tax, we all want what we cannot have, I dont know why people keep dicking with the yankees over this when Boston and the Dodgers are paying just as much or more.

Because the Red Sox and Dodgers never made what they are spending or would spend an issue? Or, if you say it, you should mean it, or, be ready to face the backlash...?

Seems very logical to me.....
