Wonder if that is an ALEast shortcoming or if fans of all divisions suffer from "counting chickens before they hatch".

This process has been so guarded it's really tough to gauge how accurate even the few reports that are coming out are. Casey Close has done a great job at keeping this whole thing top secret.

No, a blind-bid refers to something very different. All that is saying none of the other clubs know with any degree of certainty. They do have a general idea. ( I am 99.9% positive Baseball organizations are looking, at minimum, the same info a message board poster such as myself has)

Seems like they could get the contract higher if they knew what each other was doing.

It could also be a move to gather as many offers as possible. Some teams might not offer anything at all if they knew that a couple other teams had made a crazy high offer in comparison. This way he gets to choose where he wants to play even if it isn't the highest offer. Just some food for thought.
