Chi Chi is literally the worst pitcher in all of the major leagues, starter or reliever. I hope the fans boo his sorry ass off the field.
A dislike? Why, because I correctly stated how awful he is, or that fans should boo a guy who can't even get out of the first few innings in every start without putting us in a massive hole?

He's never had an out pitch, and now he's serving up batting practice every time out. He just now got his ERA under 10 with that last scoreless inning. Other fan bases would boo someone for sucking far less than that.

We've banged on Gonzo so much I think we have overlooked how sorry the offense supported him.

Tonight, so far yes. But it's really disheartening as a hitter to be down 4 runs before your first at-bat. I know they're pros and supposed to be able to overlook the scoreboard and do their jobs, but when your pitcher is just bleeding runs right and left, it almost gets to be like "why bother?"

Just like winning can be contagious, so can losing. Negativity can be a hard thing to push past.

Hell Will the guy knows he's not worth a crap but he didn't ask for the call up. He was given the assignment out of desperation. We know he's not good but what did we expect?

Couldn't this be the same mentality of a pitcher that has his defense blow 3-4 plays behind you in one inning?

Something closer to a 5.00 ERA than a 9.00?

All this makes me wonder how Thompson is doing now in the Philly farm system. Afraid to ask.

There's your 120+ pitch outing saddles, too bad it was only for 4.2 innings

Like jta said, I think it's reasonable to expect any major league starter not to have an ERA around 10. I know he's not good, but if you sign up to play pro ball, you have to be better than that. I'd be fine with a 5-6 ERA. That would at least give the Rangers a small chance of winning.

And do you honestly think he wouldn't be getting loudly booed in NY, Boston, SF, Chicago, or any other big baseball market? I'm not asking for much, just even the slightest hint of being a professional ball player. 124 pitches to get through 4.2 innings?!?! That's an embarrassment. Even the Twins beat writers are laughing at him.
