I think the reality is though that...

The further you hit your drive - the closer you will be to the hole.
The closer you are to the hole - the closer your approach shot will be to the hole.
The closer your approach shot is to the hole - the shorter your putts will be.
The shorter your putts are - the more likely you are to make them.

All mostly true. Though if you don't hit it straight, the longer you hit it, the more offline and likely to be in trouble you will be. So that is not necessarily true in all cases either.

But I raised the example of a bogey golfer intentionally and I've read your posts here. So I am not talking about you or golfers of your skill level. Golf is a target game and for guys who struggle to break 90, lack of distance is not the primary reason nor even close to their biggest flaw imo.
