Absolutely & that being the case let's just cheer whoever is on the field on Sunday (which obviously won't include Williams at that time). There may be issues, but there may also be some positives. Nobody knows at this time & to draw major conclusions based on preseason is laughable.

HTTR - will be cheering them on vs. Eagles & moving fwd regardless of what happens in week 1.

Love this stupid report. They are reporting that TW will not play on Sun & that he didn't show up for practice on Wed. LOL - who the hell said that either of these were even a remote possibility? As a matter of fact multiple sources stated that he would definitely not suit up on Sun & where the hell did they get the idea that he would be at practice today? "Sooner rather than later" doesn't mean ASAP. The media is just full of idiots.

The Eagles went from -9 to -10 at most betting shops about an hour ago even though some shops still have them at -9 1/2. This is the betting public moving the line who are wrong about 90% of the time. The true test in the line movement will take place on Sunday afternoon less than one hour before kickoff when the 'sharps' move the line, the about 10% who make serious money betting on sports. Agree 100%. I certainly would love to see big time success this season, but I am a realist. If nothing else I want to see signs that there is strength in certain areas (defense, running game, etc) to believe that they are developing a solid nucleus (albeit with holes) so that they have a solid team in another season or two especially if Haskins proves to be legit.

This season will be a great way to measure that one way or another - can't wait to see them play so that at least evaluations are being made based on actual facts.

Well said with proof that you are a realist! All of us fans go into a new season excited with high hopes for our team. Then if our team loses on opening day on Sunday we become Monday morning QBs saying if we had only done this different or that different we would have won. Truthfully, I'm not expecting all that much from the Redskins this season but like you, I hope to see improvement that we can build on. I'm even looking forward to watching the Packers at the Bears tonight because I love the real NFL and it won't be this pre-season crap that we have had to put up with for over a month.

as we did last season , i expect we will contend for a playoff spot . it isnt much of an expectation since this team should be better if healthy . i will grant you with TW not here that could mean we tread water

now i am not when saying 5-6 wins means its more " realistic " or that being negative somehow makes you more in tune with things . i can assure you its doesnt
