No disrespect (but you can take it how you want) first off, I just think some of you are working with too many emotions, like girls do. Second off, I'm not sure what "go play Madden" has to do with T.O. coming in as a red zone threat, one that we don't have. The fact of the matter is that T.O. is 2nd (only behind Rice) in td catches in the history of the league. To me that speaks volumes of how he can help us. I don't really care about him learning a playbook, I care about him learning some red zone plays and throwing his body around for a few scores. He has something to prove and there is noway he messes up his last shot within a Superbowl run. Get real!

History....you hit the nail right on the head!

Terrell Owens Begging 49ers To Sign Him For Playoffs | Busted Coverage
There are other stories to read in the link too (Deion's daughter is pretty grown up now). T.O. is in great shape though is my ponit. We need a red zone threat in the worst way.

We could bring in Owens and Moss in their primes and it wouldn't matter. Two words: Alex Smith

We have what should be one of the best red zone targets in the league in Vernon Davis. If VD played for the Patriots he would be considered the best TE ever to play the game.

So it shifts from burning 49er gear if T.O. is signed to not signing HOF wr's because of Alex Smith?

Thanks but no thanks.

We don't need the disruption he would cause.

And to be honest, Davis would've been cut along time ago on the Pats. When you factor in his crying (before Singeltary), fighting teamates, dropped passes, bad routes and just giving up on the plays he'd have been cut along time ago. The Niners were so talent starved that he was able to stay.

I'm late, sorry. Just read it

Well the spotlight will be on either Hastings or Matthews this Sunday, if it dims then you may get your wish; although Owens wasn't one of the receivers we brought in for a tire-kicking when Morgan went down.

Wrong! Belichick and Brady would've squared his ass away, they aren't pussies like Nolan was.

The only real question that 49er fans or 49er management should be asking themselves is if TO helps them win a Super Bowl. If the answer is no then forget it, if the answer is maybe then you need to sign him. Period. Who gives a shit what he did 8 years ago to you. Its not like you'd be signing him for a long term deal. The reality is that Owens numbers from any of the last 3 years ( when he was supposedly " washed up") would make him the best WR on the 49ers. It hurts absolutely nothing to bring him in and work him out. I understand why no one signed him at the start of the year, coming off an injury and being a notorious diva doesnt get you signed but are you guys trying to win a Super Bowl or are you more concerned with holding an 8 year grudge??

How about all the drops? He could've been the greatest te of all time as a Niner if he wouldn't drop 1/4 of the balls thrown to him (touchdowns and all). How could being a Patriot help that?

The answer is NO, and TO wouldn't help the 9ers win, he would most likely do the opposite.

Go Hawkeyes!!!!!

What NFL WR or TE doesn't drop passes? But have you ever watched Brady? He's great because he puts the ball in the perfect spot damn near every throw, thus making is easier to catch. C'mon man!!!

I'm done with this T.O. crap, Harbaugh knows better and he'll do what's best for the team right now and leave the T.O. crap for message board material.

Out here!

Nice! I think the Hawks are going to surprise tomorrow nite... As to the TO thing I dont have an answer for you. I get thinking he may cause disruption but the flip side is that he may come in and absolutely bust his ass to impress for a deal from someone next year. If you guys had a different HC I could see being worried but Harbaugh would keep TO in check IMO. I absolutely think its worth at least a look to see what he has. I mean if he doesnt knock your socks off then you simply dont sign him. If he looks fantastic then what could it possibly hurt to give him a shot?? TO is a doucher but even he isnt stupid enough to come into a playoff situation and make waves after a year of going unsigned for fear of his antics.
