Was just responding to post #11, it was Team A beat Team B etc crap, if it wasn't your intention I'm sorry to misunderstand.

Considering I said "AVERAGE" not "CAN" then ok. I don't think they can "AVERAGE" 12-24 from three in ACC play for the rest of the season. Since we are talking about Duke on fire the past two weeks, we have to acknowledge they probably won't go 12-24 from three, and thus their baseline standard of play is probably not what is was the past two weeks.

I agree, but it seems like you are assuming that unless they hit 12-24 they can't win a ballgame. That's where I think you are losing me. WHAT IF syracuse hadn't shot 57% (57!!!!!!!!!!!! They average 46%) in the Duke game? What if they hadn't made 26 of 32 FTs (they average 69%)?

Fair points I agree.

Also, one could make an argument that Syracuse had a little home cooking as Duke only attempted 17 FTs. Hmmmmmm. I will be interested to see how that dynamic plays out at Cameron. Syracuse/Duke, IMO, was the best game of the year as both teams played well. As I recall, Duke hit 15 3- pointers. A teams usually wins with that. Great game coming up at Cameron......however Duke is at Chapel Hill, either tomorrow or Wednesday...I forgot...and that just might also be a killer game. I love these match-ups.

If Duke loses to UNC it will be a pretty big upset no matter where they play - not too mention a big step backwards. UNC can be beat by nearly anyone at anytime as they've proven. As a Cuse fan I'd love to see Duke lose this game but I can't see how it could possibly happen.

Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse center Baye Moussa Keita did not practice on Monday. The Orange big man, who sprained his right knee in SU's Sunday win over Clemson, limped his way around the Melo Center as his team prepared to play Pittsburgh.

"I'm just going to take it day-by-day and see what happens," Keita said.

The SU senior said he believed he injured the knee when he closed out on a Clemson shooter in the corner during Sunday's first half.

"I jumped and I think I landed weird on it," he said.

He sat on the SU bench for an ensuing timeout, but when he walked out to the free-throw lane once play re-started, soreness set in.

At that point, he said, he asked for a substitution and was subsequently ushered into the Orange locker room for treatment. He did not return to the game and his status is questionable for Pittsburgh.

Keita said the knee "hurt just a little bit."

"I definitely feel like I'm going to be back soon," he said. "I'm just going to take it game-by-game and see how I feel."

Jerami Grant moved from his forward group to work out Monday with the SU centers.

Call the Pitt W all you want. Even without Keita...and let's be clear...Keita will not play at Pitt. It won't matter. SU wins by 8....yep @ Pitt.

I don't know man....the statement about taking it game by game makes me think he isn't going to be at Pitt.

Disagree. Pitt has played poorly since they lost at the Dome. Something about that game rattled them, and 'Cuse has been able to coast for a little bit but will be geared UP for this one. I think 'Cuse stays unbeaten. Their first loss will be @ Cameron or @ UVA (both of those teams are far better than Pitt IMO)

Lamar Patterson is hurt, he went 1-10 from the field the other day with about 5 airballs, could barely dribble, if he isn't healthy, Cuse wins by 10+.

Anyway this a dumb discussion, if Lamar Patterson is hurt for Wednesday, which I think is likely, Pitt has no shot to win this game.

All of these reasons............Pitt has been downright awful since the cuse loss. Patterson means way to much to the team. If he isnt at 100% they get steamrolled.........

Honestly right now the way they have played of late, i think they get embarassed

Keita is still gimping and didn't practise Monday or Tuesday. He did travel with the team but I've read more than once where Coach JB says, you don't practise, you don't play. We'll see how that one goes.

Linemakers strangely have this between a PK and Pitt -1, which seems to suggest they believe Patterson is going to play, and be moderately effective.

Grant has shown he is a big time player and he will get his share of boards. Really don't see Keita not playing a factor in the Orange win tonight. Yes, the game at Syracuse was closer than expected. It's a different set of teams. Pitt has lost something and Syracuse is better; especially the play of Grant and Cooney. When Cooney and Ennis are hitting 3's, they have to be guarded and that opens the door for Grand and Fair from 8 feet away. Fair is the quietest player on the court and at the end of the game he has 18 points and we never know how he gets there. He is a very efficient player. Wish Florida had him.

So I heard Cuse will essentially be playing with a 6 man rotation tonight, is that true?

IMO, Syracuse goes with their normal 5 and sub Gbingie and Roberson. With Keita out, that does pose a depth problem.

Though SU is short at the 5 spot but fouls on the baseline or the players that SU will employ will not be as much a problem for me.

How JB approaches this will depend on fouls and the score as the game plays out. He will start off with the 6 man rotation but will expand to 7....might even go 8 situational depending. The only senerio where SU will stick with 6 men all game is if the game is very slow and SU isn't in any foul trouble. If I'm Dixon, I force the game at SU to ensure SU must go into the bench early and often.

If Ennis and Cooney can stay out of foul trouble allowing Gbinije to work the wing will be a bonus. The advantage is Gbinije can ball on the wing. I think a lineup with Ennis/Cooney as guards, Fair gets one wing all game. Rock/Grant share the 5 spot and Gbinje/Roberson gets the other wing will work just fine.

If Ennis or Cooney get into foul trouble for me it gets more complicated. Patterson can handle the ball, but he is a huge drop from either Cooney or Ennis. Which is why Gibinije handled almost all the left over guard duities. If Coach has to move Gbinije to the guard position, that will put a lot of pressure on Roberson down low and I'm not sure if he can handle Pitt inside.

Time for someone(s) to grow up.
