SU Squeaks one out 46 - 45 @ GT. I'll take the win and be happy for now.

After the start we had, you kind of have to accept this win

Ugly but a win is a win. I expect more from Cooney but just haven't seen it. There freshman have a long way to go which is expected. Christmas is saving this team right now and no one as improved there all around game as much as Christmas. Patterson needs to get his head out of his ass. Roberson is up and down but has been solid overall. Gbinje is the glue that keeps this team together. Rebounding, freethrows and lack of offense again this year but expected with such a young team due to Grant and Ennis leaving early in which I wonder if they wish they didn't leave so early. Just saying.

Good away win for the Cuse last night. Christmas and Gbinje both played well and Cooney played OK also. He is actually turning into a better defensive player which will take away from his ability to shoot 3's. That's OK as it's defense that keeps a team in there when the shooting is cold. I didn't see any stats, however it looked like Syracuse did a better job on the boards and also did a better job once the ball went inside. Fun game to watch; however, neither team shot the ball that well. GT had a lot of shot clock violations and several "air balls".

Thanks rune.

And let's just tee em up for another one tonight. FSU comes into the dome @ 8:00pm est. Am I seeing this right, FSU has a 7'-3", 7'-1" and a 7'-0" to run the baseline?

Wow...that's big. SU isn't even close with Rac coming in at 6-9 center, McCoullough 6-10 and Roberson at 6-8 as the forwards.

I guess SU will just have to be athletes and go get it. Should be interesting.

I just posted this in the ACC thread, but that McCullough injury is looking like an ACL tear which wouldn't be good

I don't get espn u so I have no clue. Very sorry to hear about McCullough. That's just sad to see a young man go through that. Hope you are wrong.

I do see SU is up big at the half, but that's small compared to an ACL injury.

SU 35, FSU 22 at the half. We've been here before. Hope they play a solid second half.

I hope I'm wrong too, no word on it from anyone yet.

But the way his knee bent, that's the looks of an ACL. He limped off with the help of two other 'Cuse personnel which is good, but it could still be a slight tear. Hopefully it's not.

Christmas is taking a beating as well right now, he's holding his back/hip after slipping and falling. Grimacing pretty bad but staying on the court.

FSU is a very physical team with three big dudes to throw 15 fouls at Rak. This will not be pretty.

Well thankfully, Rak picked up his 4th foul early so Boeheim was forced to take him off the court for a little while.

Hopefully he keeps him off for a while longer.

EDIT: As I say this, Boeheim put Christmas back in because Okobonah (the big we have that doesn't get used) was struggling.

And fsu has cut the lead to 10 with 5:29 remaining. Injured, foul trouble....It's pucker time.

Next man up has to step up.

Cooney is having a huge game, with each game that goes by he looks more like the Cooney we knew in the first half of last year.

We're shooting 9/16 from three, that's huge for us as a generally struggling 3 point team.

And fsu has struggled from outside all year. I read they are dead last in the ACC from 3.

If McCullough's injury doesn't turn out to be serious, this game was huge for us.

Yeah...and the cuse is not that deep with coleman redshirting this year. It's going to be rough from here on if he's out for any length of time. the kids a damn good baller.

Great win for the Cuse. Good to see Cooney finally light it up. Hopefully McCullough's injury isn't serious but it didn't look good. Go Cuse!!

Watched the game and Cooney was at his best...no doubt about that. That game would have been a lot closer had it not been for Cooney having such a hot hand. If he shoots his normal 3 for 11 instead of 7 for 11 from outside, the game is a lot closer Gbenji also played well and Christmas held his own inside. That how it goes and any team can be beaten on a given night. Kentucky can lose as well and it will take a team to play like Syracuse did last night.
