lol depends, how long is mr. webers new deal that he'll have to sign for this trade to be worth it :D

6. It's the Shannahan for Stevens argument. Weber can prevent as many goals as Kovy can score.

That was a way different era when you could clutch and grab. Teams didn't get 10pp a game. I wonder how good Stevens would be in the new nhl. More so now with all the new hit rules

Stevens would be suspended for half a season for most of his hits in today's NHL. But the logic of a great d man over a scorer is if the other team can't score they can't win. Throw in the fact that Weber can score and you'd have to be an idiot not to pull the trigger on that deal if presented with it.

Let's assume that Lidstrom or Chara are hurt for an entire season and are removed from Boston or Detroit's lineup. I won't use Weber here because I personally think I'd rather have Ryan Suter (That might not seem like it makes sense, but it does). I Believe that if you removed either Lidstrom of Chara their teams would probably allow 30 more goals over the season and score at least 15 less due to their absence on the PP.

what did that great defense get us from 96-99. playoff miss 1st round kos by ottawa and pitt...and 2nd round ko by the rangers because we couldnt score on ritcher.

dont get me wrong i want a good defense but not at the price of our main sniper. your just trading one problem for another

Not exactly sure how it went with Sykora entering Lou's doghouse but it went something like this: During the 2002 quarterfinals against Carolina, Sykora had some pain from an injury which was considered to be minor. The doctors cleared him to play but he had decided not to play. At the hotel lobby in Carolina, either Dano or Nieds found him walking around without any problems and told him that he looked fine and that he had better play. He didn't play, we went on to lose that game and the series and he was traded to Anaheim in July of that year.

Well after last nights performance, I don't think he should be on our top line or PP anymore. Given it's one game, but he clearly doesn't have the wheels anymore to be a top line guy.

Haha you just said why you're wrong to say that.

The entire team was bad, it was one game. Not enough to make a statement like that in my opinion.
