No way this league is still going 3 years from now.
Why you say that? Size of rosters? 31 in my SF and this is year 6. Occasionally someone drops out but they always get replaced. Trades are what keeps the interest up and despite the size of rosters, occasionally someone gets lucky with a waiver wire pickup.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders.

Dont mean any disrespect. I look at this board and we have some FF diehards here (which i respect totally). But even here we've had owners come and go. Some surprisingly.

Maybe i'm leaning on personal experience, but with the size of these rosters, i can easily see a dynasty owner getting disinterested knowing his team will be bad for years.

but thats true for all dynasties... i thought you were pointing out the lack of movement during the season... i cant imagine much outside of trades... and even trades, how many do you expect in a sesaon??

but the lack of movement can be a good thing too, as it takes less work week to week to find that one player you need... chances are they are not available, or that they are already on your team...

Of course it's the nature of the beast. Member participation is what makes or break a league and new blood helps keep the action rolling. I had planned to drop all my sleeper leagues when I decided to cut back dramatically on the numbers of leagues I was in, but this SF league has a lot of good participation in all phases so I keep it despite not being a big fan of SF (coming around though).

Anything else youre nor sharing? Like a full 11-man IDP?

Nope, they scrapped IDP and K, no DST either. Originally was going to be IDP, I think 7 or 8 spots or something, but enough people said no it didn't move forward.

I know 3 of the other owners personally, they def aren't going to bail and are active traders. One guy hardly ever has any draft picks in another dynasty I'm in cause he's constantly dealing and finds them to be the easiest assets to put a valuation against. He's made the playoffs in 2 of the last 3 seasons, took 3rd last yr and 3x his entry fee in winnings from reg season payouts + playoff results

Pay leagues, right or wrong, seem to stay pretty stable for yrs - the investment is long-term. .... only dynasties I a part of outside of D1 (and it's hard for me to think of it as dynasty).

Man, I'm a crotchety old fart, no denying it..but damnit.. there's no place for a fantasy team, that isn't a team. Defense and kickers matter on the feild, they have to matter in fantasy.

I just don't get the allure of only doing it half assed.

To each their own, I just had to piss and moan real quick, get it out of my system for the day. Probably find something new tomorrow :)

Welp, Spears and Z.White are gone, looking like I'll be targeting the vets that only have 1-2 seasons left like A.Jones

Certainly not a bad fallback - - perhaps think on grabbing Chandler a bit later on. ....

this is the point when it comes to RBs that i would go with a veteran with a big name... if there is anyone like that, if ekeler is around... he is perfect... love that type, if they have one big week, people will always over-value it...

Ekeler is pretty low on my list, he looked washed last year after restructuring his contract to be performance based

dont disagree... I just like veterans with big names... if they start off hot, there is always someone who will pay for them in a trade...

yes, it is never great strategy to draft to make a trade, but its better high end potential than just getting a safe player...

Maybe it is too soon, not sure who else is available... But in a dynasty, i would rather have ekeler or aaron jones than most young running backs who are currenlty 2s

Actually consider Ekeler to be a #2/COP back in Washington.. might as well go for younger guys who may or may not be #2's

I like it... its tough being that team with 1 or no QBs.. not saying you are doing this for trade value, but I am not sure if low end QBs have as much value as you would think in a SF dynasty...

In the 11th round, I'm targeting Zack Moss since I waited too long at RB.

Offering '25 2nd + startup 15.02 for pick on the clock and 16.09 - does that at least seem like a fair offer?
