Dude, he was in his 11th season. His career was winding down. He earned a TD. I think he felt forgotten. I'd be pissed too.
That season, Walter had 9 straight 100-yard rushing games. He rushed for 1551 yards in 16 games.

This program at the 38-minute mark, has Jim McMahon explain (and diagram) why Walter did not touch the ball much in the SB.

Worth noting the 85 Bears had the #2 ranked scoring offense and the #7 ranked yardage offense.

Its amusing that the Bears’ offense gets zero credit. They were about as well balanced as an offense gets.

Ya,NE had Walters number that day......that was their no.1 focus, they were not gonna let him beat them....they concentrated on him so much, they forgot about rest of the team.

And its still sad Walter never got that SB td......
New England could have game planned however the hell they wanted for that game. It made no difference. The outcome was never a question.

I just wish they would have played Miami. It would have been the most fitting ending. Defeat the only team that beat them.

I think people understand that Payton is an all-time great and that McMahon was on point that year. I don't think anyone is sitting around thinking it was a Dilfer/Ravens situation.
