Bucky -
You're welcome. a friend sent that in an e-mail to me.
It's cool the team has such a "tight" relationship with their fans.

Hey fellas, whenever you get around to it, list your top 10 favorite Packers of all time. I stick to the guys I saw play or coach. But hey, history is relevant so anything goes.

For me it's really, really, really hard to do but...here goes.
1. Mike Holmgren
2. Reggie White
3. Charles Woodson
4. Sterling Sharpe
5. Brett (Borat) Favre; I had to move him down the list....and make fun of him a little.
6. LeRoy Butler
7. William Henderson
8. Donald Driver
9. Aaron Rodgers
10. Clay Matthews

It is highly likely that Rodgers and Matthews will overtake everyone else on this list eventually. McCarthy and Thompson may get on the list. But I think at that point I'm going to cheat and start creating 10 way ties for each place.

My list:
[Didn't see the 60's guys play - too young to pay attention]

1) Vince Lombardi
2) Charles Woodson
3) Aaron Rodgers
4) Clay Matthews
5) William Henderson
6) Jim Taylor
7) Donald Driver
8) Santana Dotson
9) Ray Nitschke
10) Tramon Williams

Impossible to really make a list like this. I may feel different tomorrow. Still, these are guys I feel have been "true" to the Packers organization, and were / are willing to do whatever they're asked.
I could easily come up with multiple lists and feel just as strongly about. [if that makes any sense]

Ya man, it was hard to leave Edgar Bennett off the list. I mean him and LeRoy stuck around all this time to help build the new Packers. Love those guys.

Bucky -
My list is NOT who I think is Best, it's more who my favorites are. Even then, it's an incomplete list.

Who can forget:

1) Frank Winters [snaps the ball when the other side moves - qb ready or not!]
2) Edgar Bennet [always a team player]
3) LeRoy Butler [inventer of "Lambeau Leap"]
4) Doug Evans
5) Mark Tauscher [started as rookie along with #6]
6) Chad Clifton
7) Gilbert Brown
8) Sam Shields
9) BJ Raji
10) Reggie White [critical acquisition to SB XXXI win]

Yes Brett Favre is arguably the best player EVER to wear green & gold.
Loved him when he was a TEAM player.
Sick to death of him now - therefore never on a list of MY favorite players.

As always:
[IMO]

Great list tk!! I thought about ol' bag o' donuts too. LOL. Used to laugh every time Madden called Winters that. "And there he is, ol' bag o' donuts.."

Hey speaking of Doug Evans, we shouldn't forget Craig Newsome. Short career due to injury, but probably one of the most important rookie seasons in Packer history. Err...I guess the Super Bowl was his 2nd season.

No question. In fact I loved the guy for the first 10 years.
Just hated the "I think I'll retire . . . no . . . wait" routine.
I truly believe he is arguably one of the greatest players in the NFL's history.

But the fact is, he is not on MY personal list of favorite players . . . anymore.

Yeah Bucky.

Newsome was great - once went a whole year without an interference call, until a phantom call in playoffs [super bowl?]

When I was younger, I loved Favre. People that didn't watch him every week don't realize just how unbelievable the guy was. They have an idea. But plays like that last second shovel pass against Seattle in the 2007 playoffs, he did that weekly. When he had the ball, you knew he was going to make a play.

I always felt a little bad for his wife, but that was personal stuff, and really none of our business. Once you see what he's like to the people who are supposed to matter most, though, it's kind of hard to hang on to that warm and fuzzy feeling.

I'll always remember the good parts the most. I was mad at him for the last couple of years, but that's already starting to fade. I can't wait for the guy to go into the hall as a Packer.
