On the topic of the Eagles 3rd/4th and short rugby scrum play. I don't think the NFL will go back to the old way of "no pushing of a teammate" with the ball, but I think they are going to do something. Maybe no more than one teammate can push a player with the ball at one time? Or maybe not within a yard of the LOS?

Selfishly I want this to happen because the Eagles are so dominant with this play but even if it were another team I think it's one of those Belichick type things where you say: it's legal, but should it be?

All year, the Eagles have been built to win a bunch of different ways. The offense did their job to play complimentary football. They generated a lead for the defense. The defense needs one stop in that 2H and they didn’t get it. Seemed very similar to LII and 41-33. The defense gave up 500 passing yards to Brady but in the big moment, Brandon Graham found a way to make a play and they got an all important turnover that sealed the game. That didn’t happen on Sunday night.
Yeah, I'm pretty much thinking the same thing for the most part. the Chiefs figured out how to neutralize the Eagles biggest strength and from there, they just picked your boys apart, especially in the middle of the field. Having a possession begin at the 5 yd line was a killer though. Can't have a ST blunder that bad at that point of the game. It's just a killer. And the defense had no answer.

With an assist from a shit playing surface that made rushing the passer for both teams incredibly difficult.

Absolutely. That turf is a fucking disgrace and the league should be ashamed. How much did they spend on the crappy half time show with that fucking skank? Yet won't fix their stadiums to make games playable. I've seen HS fields with better surfaces.

The refs allowed it and it looked like a money play every time they ran it so I'm sure alot of teams will be adopting it.

To be clear, I'm not saying they shouldn't have allowed it or that it was illegal. It was 100% legal. I'm talking about going forward.

Mahomes showed a lot of heart and Hurts is the real deal, these 2 teams are going to be running it for awhile. Allen makes too many mistakes and Cinci is almost there

Is she eating the sourest of grapes ever or just clueless? Probably a little of both.

Pretty solid that post Super Bowl all people can come with is a video of a comedian staging a Tv smash and the wife of the 48th guy on a 53 man roster. I would have never guessed that Philly wouldn’t have shown their ass. Players have been the anti Forty Whiners across the board giving the Chiefs props and congratulating them.

Bengals and the Eagles have to deal with life after the QB gets paid a monster total. That’s a whole different world of roster construction. Little room for error in drafting.

Ya sure? I think we’re ready to be honest now and admit that while Belicheck is a great coach, he’s been over hyped as the GOAT because the real GOAT carried him.

Guy is .477 and only 1 playoff win in 10 years w/o Brady. I have Andy Reid over him

Who all remembers 24-14 and Mahomes looking like he had a broken leg.

Some Eagles fans were already popping thier champagne bottles.

I read a funny comment online (barstool or something) where one of the guys that's an Eagles fan said "in retrospect I wish Mahomes was hurt"

Or in the case of RTK, already spitting in the face of anyone and everyone who doesn't worship the ground the Eagles walk on.

I feel that's a bit unfair. This is a man who brought machine learning to NFL defensive schemes and it was a massive advantage for the Patriots as, even deep into the 2010's, were still way routinely outperforming what their predictive stats would have anyone expect for the Patriots defense in terms of PPG. That's not really and has never been explainable by just Brady protecting the ball or consistently good ST's, imo. It's not an accident the Patriots built a dynasty in the 2000's without Brady being the Brady people see him as now.

Nick Saban, another guy on that 90's Browns staff with Belichick when they were developing this to counter the Steelers length at WR, has dominated College Football. I don't think this is an accident.

Not this Eagle fan. I was the guy in October that had RTK screaming at me because I said I needed to see the Eagles play a 60 minute game before I said they were a complete team. I’ve seen Sunday night almost play out 5-6 times this year. Eagles 3Q “leakage” was enough of a thing to become a trend. It happened again Sunday night.
