Yup. The Niners seemed to have the physicality advantage, but the Chiefs were like the veteran tennis champ who kept steady for the entire match, while the Niners were like a tennis player who had physical advantages, but who hit the ball out of bounds one too many times.
I had an ominous feeling after Dre Greenlaw suffered that freak torn achilles in the 2nd qtr.
(Just jogging onto the field from the sideline after a SF punt)
That said...the Niners had numerous opportunities but just couldn't find any real sustainable rhythm. Disappointing to say the least.
Kittle wasn't thrown to enough imho... the special teams were meh, and the secondary had too many lapses in the biggest game of the year.

Bash the Cowboys all you want for their playoff problems. The Niners have still gone longer as far as Superbowl victories. Congrats to the Chiefs for making that happen

Just didn't score enough points. The defense played great, IMO. Holding an NFL team to 19 points in 4 quarters is something that you take every single time.

Sometimes.
you can have a two good teams play two good games. One is still gonna lose.
In this game I dont blame any coaches for the loss. I tip my hat to the one that won it.
Only way it seems of the Niners winning in the end. Is if they ended the game with the ball.
Chances are if Mahomes is last with the ball, his team is gonna win.
Yep. They had that chance twice - convert on 3rd and 5 after the two minute warning and you can run out almost all the clock and kick a field goal and leave the Chiefs with like 15 second and no time outs. Get another first down and you they have no shot at all.

Also 2nd and 4 inside the 10 in the first possession of overtime and couldn't punch it in for the win.

KC D got very tough. Hard-fought game all around.

That's mostly fair...but the SF D-Line & LB's did their job throughout the game and kept them in it.
While some of the bounces that needed to go their way didn't this time around.
Mahomes/Reid figured out ways to exploit the SF secondary in the 2nd half.
A lot of Shanny's play calling does get a bit suspect at the wrong times.
It just is what it is.

Warners dirtiness is a big reason why I like him.

I’d hate to play against that guy.

LOL. With the draft and free agency pending, this means almost nothing.

Yeah...maybe...but we shall see.
All in all it was a darn good season.
They just came up a win short of their ultimate goal.
I mean, they are still the NFC champs..and that's not nothing.

Yep, 30 other teams couldn’t get there so losing a Super Bowl sucks, but getting to one is still a great accomplishment…

Couple of ST plays bit San Fran in the ass but it was a damn fun game to watch from a neutral fan's perspective. Back and forth slugfest but when the best player in the game has the ball in his hands at the end and the game on the line, you just know he's gonna win. Congrats to the Chiefs fans. And no real fault or blame on San Fran. A couple of bad bounces and just fall short. The Greenlaw freak injury was a huge blow but the D played good, for the most part. Just was obviously exhausted at the end and Mahomes is just "that guy".
