As long as it wasn't much more. 8 years @ 14.5 or 15.

I haven't heard yet how bad Fairley injury is, but I have always been of the opinion that we shouldn't lose both in the same year.

I wouldn't. As I see Suh as the real face of this franchise. And would like that to continue for years down the road. If it takes another year and another 8-10-12Mil, color me content.

I never been of the mind that we would lose both. If Suh were to go elsewhere I felt Fairley would get tagged. Now I don't see that as a possibility. But I could see the possibility of both being back if Suh gets paid, before hitting the market.

Fairley being done for the year could drop his market value, and actually help the defense and the franchise long term. (While hamstringing it right now.)

As of today I say yes. It's a problem.

The Lions are getting decimated by injuries. We have guys playing significant minutes that were delivering pizzas in September. The TE position is awful with a guy in street clothes a week ago playing yesterday.

I think the money can be spread around and better used. If Detroit didn't have so much tied up with CJ and Stafford I say he is worth every penny. And I am not a fan of renegotiating large deals to add large deals. You can' keep kicking the can down the road. As it is if Suh does sign somewhere else he will still be one of the highest paid players on the team due to dead money.

BJ Raji, who is no Suh but a solid DT signed a one year deal for 4 million. That leaves a decent amount of cash to sign a few other guys that the Lions could use.

He'll be the highest paid defensive player by a significant amount regardless of who he plays for. The second highest paid defensive player next season, Tully, will most likely be cut.

I don't want to see restructures either. But I would like to see long term defensive investments.

Bush and Sims have a lot of salary that can get redirected to the other side of the ball.

I'd be okay with a slight increase to McCoys deal.

Levy and Suh are the main guys we need to keep at all costs IMO. Levy's a FA in 2016, so who knows our cap situation by then. the

I would pay Suh $16 mil a year, cut Tulloch, Sims, Raiola, Bush, and Pettigrew, depending on their cap hits and what we would save. But those 5 are expendable due to bad play, or quality backups.

He's as good as gone. (Ill keep saying this till it happens). But Im not sure how much we'll save. Im afraid Mayhew will spend decent cash on a FA replacement. He loves spending money of offense.

I agree with this.

Suh is one of the best DTs out there but that position doesn't take a rocket surgeon. I think a deep rotation at DL (especially DT) is more important than having the absolute best DT in the game.

If Suh were a top corner or linebacker I'd pay more.

And Suh probably just made signing Fairley a lot cheaper next season.

If we save $1.98, I'll call it a win.

Would you have an issue with either?

C'mon Kreton, it's a simple question here bro.

LOL ok. I would have a problem with more than 7 years, and more money if it is a lot more. Would be ok with a slight raise over McCoy.

I would not want to see Tulloch cut. The other guys I couldn't care less if they got cut. Except Pettigrew, I could care if he got cut. I'd love. Regardless of the cap hit.
