If Smolinski keeps hitting like this he could find himself in the 2 spot. Yeah I know, highly unlikely. They way he came up and immediately started hitting along with his stocky build kind of reminds me of Calhoun. Even though Smo is RH. Calhoun has helped that line up a ton being at the top.

I thought the observation on TAG & Buzz's part about the calls Choo has gotten this year pretty revealing.

They said Choo has had 30-40 pitches "well outside the SZ" which have been called. Most of them on the outside part of the plate.

Wonder why that is?

Telis went to the Manny Sanguillen school of hitting I think.

Manny had 223 walks in 13 years and he never saw a pitch he couldn't swing at.

Hope it turns out as well for Telis as it did for Manny.
