I was surprised to see a near full theatre at an opening 1:05 pm show time. Looks like this one will make some money and hang around the big screen for at least a month, maybe six weeks. It'll be free eventually, but once your a senior, a $7.94 matinee is well worth the money. I have a $100 nmovie gift card my daughter bought for Christmas. I think I may have used it 8 or 9 times. Might have three more movies left before it runs out.
Funny how there are fewer screaming kids in the adult movies in the afternoon than there are at night.

Did I just read "When healthy" ?

Why?
5 Concussions since college.

In other words, brain damaged. Brain becomes very sensitive to shock after getting rattled more than twice. He missed 9 games in 2024 because of a serious whack to the noggin. No one is going to ante up a wheel barrow full of picks for him. I wouldn't give them more than a fourth rounder. Maybe a 2026 4th and 2027 6th or 7th. Another shot to the noodle and he's done.

No...I meant why would we want another "When Healthy" player?

My bad for not posting a full question.

I don’t understand why some people are so acceptable to concussions. I raced motocross professionally and took hits to the melon all the time. Would we want this kid to work for any price? If he play, he will get concussed! I got hit so hard one time it changed the shape of my head. I laughed as I left the hospital, covered in blood. Not so much as a headache ……

Just say no. The WR room is already full. New regime, new players, new scheme let's see how it plays out.

Diggs by all reports is ahead of schedule. We don't need another #1 especially one with concussion concerns.

If NO wanted to take say Boutte or Bourne along with a Polk or Baker and a day 3 pick maybe, just maybe I'd entertain this.

Otherwise I'm 100% happy going into the season with who we have currently.

I can't disagree with the sentiment. Or the truth about concussions.

If it smells like poop and looks like poop, don't stick your finger in it and taste it to see if it's chocolate.

I equate it to some boxers...yes, I'm old enough to remember when boxing was a prominent sport...had the "Glass Jaw".
Some boxers could just take and take and take massive hits to the head and face while others had to rely on foot speed as much as hand speed and power because any decent strike and they were seeing stars.

Some people just more susceptible. Some people can run like the wind, some can throw darts, some can do algebra in their heads, some can manipulate their audience, some can write music...

I boxed, I was pretty good and I could take a punch.
I laughed so hard when the "knockout game" was going around.
I thought, somebody is going to have an embaressing day!
My buddies in the military laughed at me - until they saw me in the ring, knock out somebody in seconds!
Apparently I have a "tough nut" I'm thankful but I don't get it.

This isn't stupid, but I figured there wasn't a really good place to put something like this.

Were you ever in love with someone you thought felt the same? Did he or she ever just walk away without as much as a warning?

On July 5, 1968, I got my draft notice. Report for induction into the U.S. Army on August 6, 1968. I immediately thought of a close friend, John Roberts, whose funeral I had attended back in October of '67. I remember him lying in his casket, chest draped in medals in his dress U.S. Marine uniform. He'd gone to Vietnam in August and was brought back in October. I joined the Navy. I'd been dating a girl steadily since 1965 and gave her a diamond engagement ring. We said good bye on Sept. 22 and I was in Great Lakes on the 23rd.

We wrote back and forth and when I wrote and told her that I'd be home on November 21st, the letters stopped coming. Two days before I left Great Lakes I got a letter telling me that she was sorry but had met someone that she fell in love with. I went home and the day after Thanksgiving, went to her house to pick up all of the things that she had that belonged to me. Including the ring. Hardly a word was spoken and I carried my anger with me to my first deployment. I never heard from her again, but did meet up with her sister in Honolulu in 1971. She was married to a Marine who was in the 8th & I Marine Drum & Bugle Corps. Life goes on.

A week ago, I get a response on Facebook from the gal that dumped me 57 years ago. She hasn't apologized but gave me a low down on her life. She's two years younger than me and still doesn't realize that she had her first child on the same day as my wife had our first child and was introduced to my wife in the hospital as two nuns tried to sympathize with my wife passing a 10 lb and creating a plum sized hemmeroid while the old girlfried, who had huge boobs couldn't get those monsters to lactate. Question: Should I ask her if she remembers my wife and her meeting in the hospital? She's married, lives in very nice section of Falmouth, Maine and is married to her third husband.

The reason she wrote is that she found out that I'd written a couple of books that were published in 2018 and now she's interested in my writing. Suddenly, I get a note from Amazon that my books are being requested. I'm also getting calls from publishers who want to market both books.

I've got a book that Luc Besson's movie company is looking at, so I think I'll just let things stay right where they are for the moment.

There is nothing wrong with backing out of an engagement. Painful but much better than marrying someone you cannot commit to.

I have a rule for myself that I passed on to my children.
You don't remain friends with someone you have had sex with. If you or she cannot commit, let them go and don't look back.
My 1st girlfriend was an absolutely beautiful, sweat girl and would have made a great wife. I was going into the Army and probably headed to Viet Nam. I broke up with her because I did not want her waiting for someone that might not come back. I have never seen her again. I still have strong feelings for her 50 years later. Nothing good can come from making contact again......
