I have to say that Game 3 watching Brady and Meyers trying to get on the same page was tough.
Then watching Stidham come in and all of a sudden, Jakobi is a star and getting open and catching everything thrown his way was very exciting.

Brady had a confidence that nothing or no one was going to take his job away. His diminishing skills allowed him to blame the WRs for not getting on his page and therefore, it was the WRs that had a problem not Brady. Stidham came in and looked for those pages and tried his absolute best not to turn the pages too fast or flip them back. Deep in my aging and failing brain, I know that Belichick, Caserio and McDaniels saw something in Stidham that compelled them to agree to draft him. Watching him play in the preseason gave me the sense that he has the tools (Arms and legs) and the brain to do the job. It's that intangible of the mind that separates the greaat from the nobodies. I honestly think he can be a great QB.

I have been watching last years preseason games with Stidham pitching.

What does this mean? Havn't a clue but I'm very excited to watch the kid play! (both kids)
Yeah, you can't read a ton into that because Stid and Meyers had more time together as b-listers and they were playing against b and c-listers.

But for sure, those results don't mean absolutely nothing... It was quite promising, but in world that promises and results frequently vary.

they are talking about the future and if he wins 6 SB with mahomie he will be in the convo :suds:
If Mahomes gets a concussion as easy as he did with that "barely a hit" hit, then he won't be around for 5 more super Bowl wins.

But they made it to the NFC Championship 4 times...That's gotta count for something...
I remember seeing a billboard at the 96 Olympics in Atlanta... "Nobody ever won a silver medal, THEY LOST THE GOLD"... and I didn't buy it.

If I remember it was four straight times and it counts a lot. The Patriots eight straight trips to the AFCCG is probably their best feat through the dynasty and five more making 13 out of 19 during the entire dynasty stretch.

When someone wants to demean the Patriots' over dominance of the 21st Century, they point point to specific instances like the each loss to the Giants and of course Eli Manning and the loss to the Eagles. Of course the biggest finger points to the Guants killing the only ever undefeated 16 game regular season. Winning six of nine Super Bowl games is certainly impressive, but to be in 9 Super Bowls over a stretch of 20 years in the NFL is near incomprehensible. To actually be in 8 straight AFCCG puts things in a ver different light and nobody ever evens mentione the "What if the Patriots had won them all?" How many Super Bowl banners would be flying in Gillette. Those eight straight AFCCG were after the first three Super Bowls and actually occurred in fourteen years. Because those numbers will most likely never be repeated, we're already hearing things that re-define a dynasty. What if KC wins three Super Bowls in a row? Three consecutive SB wins will make Andy Reid the GOAT Coach and Patrick Mahomes the GOAT QB.

Once something gets out of reach, it has to be changed.

I don't know why your post made me think of this but...

After the second SB loss to the Giants Gisselle was famously quoted saying "Tom can't throw the ball and catch it too". We all thought it was a dig a Wes Welker, but years later after the Pats lost the Super Bowl to Philly we learned she really meant Tom could really pass the ball, but catch? not so much.
