Jimi. He changed everything.

With Stevie right behind. Because he kicked the format square in the ass when it needed a serious kick in the ass.

Jimi Hendrix was the bomb in the late 60's for sure, but SRV was covering everything Hendrix ever did by the time he was 14 years old.

As good as both of them were (sadly I can't say "are"), there's a fella named Joe Bonamassa that blows both of them away.

Welcome to the evolution of music.

Great guitar player, but probably the most overrated musician of all time................. for obvious reasons.

That might actually be Paul McCartney. So bad he had to play the Superbowl.

I am partial to Jimi Hendrix.

SRV was a better technician IMO. Jimi was probably a little better freestyle.

No one has ever said that Paul McCartney was an all time great guitar player. I do believe that Sir Paul is an all time great song writer/singer, but that is a different discussion.

Hendrix was more innovative. They both have great style and SRV was way better technically but I have to give it to the innovator. Saw SRV when he was clean on his last tour and him and his band were perfect.
