It probably stems from the fact that he’s presented as an “offensive genius” and in that role it was a big deal that he couldn’t scheme first downs in the 2nd half of the Super Bowl. He couldn’t dial up anything to stop the bleeding and regain momentum. I see criticism for offensive and defensive coordinators all the time.
