I'm hoping that his appeal will decrease the suspension. He didn't test positive, he just missed the tests causing a "failure to comply". He's battling depression, or so he says. If that is true then I hope he gets the help he needs before returning to the field.

Didn't he miss the first four games of last season for the same shit?
Just might never learn.

Villa is a backup pressed into service. Our LT is a highly rated player who is testing free agency. We would want to replace a high quality LT with similar, even if Villa acquitted himself well last year.

Logic seems reasonable. But I'm just slightly more optimistic about AVill. He played very well for essentially a rookie. Now with a full season of experience under his belt, its hard not to imagine him being a full time starter. Beach is the better player right now, but give AVill another year or 2 and he should be on the same level. It doesn't feel like it was that long ago that many of us were questioning whether Beach was the long term answer or not.

Posted that in the "Vontaze Burfict" thread this morning... Pretty hilarious since that was one of their main comebacks to "who's dirtier"

Dammit! That really sucks

Didn't see that coming....but they still need to find a LT which now probably going to be #6 draft pick.

Bryant accepted his yr suspension I read somewhere...really good they kept DHB, and Coates...here's your chance buddy!

Weddle... So much for all that "wants to play for a contender" talk. Looks like he chose the paycheck over the trophy. But that isn't to say the Ratbirds won't be back into the postseason in a year or 2. 4 years & $27mil is another unfriendly cap number for Ozzie to work with. He's hoping to find another Steve Smith Sr type aging vet with plenty left in the tank.

Martavis... I thought he was still appealing it, but I haven't had my ear to the ground much today. But the DHB & Ladarius Green signings make a lot more sense with Bryant on the shelf.

Weddle...I really thought he was staying out west, but maybe OAK had blown their wad and didn't have enough cash left for him.

MT..Report: Steelers WR Martavis Bryant Accepts One-Year Suspension - Steelers Depot

Green...unsual for them to buck up like that to an outsider, especially a WR/TE...but again, maybe the powers that be over on So. Water St. knew what was up.

Interesting... Colbert must have known from his agent that he was asking too much. Didn't bother putting anything on the table.

Steelers OLB James Harrison begins workout regimen which will decide future with the team

Hopefully he makes another run at it. But I think they would be in safe hands if not. JJ can fill in and now that Dupree is solidifying himself, it will free up Moats to rotate on either side.

IDT there is anything bad that can come out of this, but part of me is ready to move on and let the young guys run it...if they haven't learned anything yet from Deebo...chances are they're not going to. The other part of me realizes that even at his age, he's probably still better than Jarvis in pass rush and can help the team with 4 or 5 sacks.

Butler seems to like the rotation concept, but I wonder if it's overkill rotating 4...Like you said, Moats can float between both sides and everyone gets more reps...Dupree needs to stay on the field more imo.

I agree. Dupree now knows what it takes after openly admitting to not being in the best shape LY. Said something to Butler about being gassed a lot. So hopefully this offseason he kicks it up a notch and comes back hungry. He'll be ready. Having Harrison back would be somewhat of a luxury. I keep hoping that JJ is going to finally come into camp with a chip on his shoulder and get after it, but I think we have seen his ceiling. But he's serviceable and capable. He & Moats should be more than enough to fill the void.

Idk what to expect from Chick this season , but he has an opportunity to crack the code and get on the field.
Zman? Will he make this squad? Latest on Spence?

I'm kinda thinking they might take another dip in the draft at OLB or ILB...it's starting to look as if JAX really wants Beach and so far no word on Okung, so I'm thinking OT could be moving up the board as competition for AVill...maybe as high as 58 is a Spriggs or Coleman is on the board.

Chickillo was the '15 camp darling but failed to impress much in last preseason. Should be interesting to see how he progresses. I know he's a very hard worker and is very dedicated so I'm optimistic about him. Hard to tell with Z-man. I like his motor & tenacity, but so far he hasn't done much to impress anyone outside of a few decent preseason performances. Didn't he get injury waived last offseason and then cleared waivers, thus wound up back on the team's IR? Pretty sure that's what happened. I'm curious about Spence & Garvin as well. Haven't heard much outside of a few team visits. Spence visited Miami, & Garvin went to the 'Skins facility. Losing both would leave a pretty big hole on the team's depth charts. I would definitely expect an ILB to be drafted if both leave. Regardless it would open the door for guys like Z-man & Chickillo looking to make a bigger impact.
