Stedman Baily was involved in shooting incident this Tuesday in Miami.

Baily, who is currently serving a 4 game suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy, suffered a head wound that is not considered life threatening.

Like I stated TEB, Bailey has gone down a path of a series bad decisions and now this. He is in critical but stable condition and he faces surgery today. Whether his playing days are in jeopardy remains to be determined. You are right, what is he doing out at 3 am with kids? Just boggles the imagination.

While I agree we don't know all the facts, but I think if I was a pro player I would have enough money to move myself, let alone my kids out of that area!
Miami Gardens has one of the highest crime rates in the nation for a city that size. I saw pictures of the houses in the area where he was shot, looked like your typical high crime type area!

Now if I was coming off my second suspension , I think I would hang out around St. Louis doing everything I could to get better and back in the good graces of the team, instead of going back, hanging with a bunch of the old gang, that "probably" don't know any other life, but drugs!

Again, I'm not saying that's what happened, but he has shown a pattern, and it is a high crime city, and sorry but it's a fact, a lot of these players have come from poor, drug invested neighborhoods and a lot of their "boys" only know that life, doesn't do anyone Any good that has climbed out from that life to go back to their roots, nothing but trouble can come from it!

82% of professional sports athletes are financially broke five years after they leave their respective sports. Many of them can't say no when they get the big bucks due to the first people to start demanding cash are family members and friends from the "hood". For Bailey to go back "home" was simply not wise and he obviously doesn't have anyone guiding him to make better choices. Look what happen to Lamar Odom. He has gone down a destructive road that has now put his playing career in definite jeopardy.

I think it's real easy to jump to conclusions in regarding this matter. We don't know all the facts but who's to say that he was hanging with "the wrong crowd or thug friends"? It could be a case where he is visiting relatives who live in the hood, let's say a grandmother or an aunt? I'm not a pro athlete but my biological grandmother lives in the hood of of west Philly and much of my family , no one envisions getting shot chilling with the fam but if you doing dirt on the low then things like that can happen. It's unfortunate that it happened but if possible i'd move my family out of that shit hole.
