So I tuned out most star wars stuff some time ago, but I read that Mandalorian 3 is basically setting up how the first order came to be. If true that is a shame they forced high quality writers to plug into that tragedy of a trilogy.

Even more strange now that most of future plans around the runners of the sequels is now scrapped as well.

I think Kennedy survived today’s purge. Today was mainly just a major shuffling of organization (Perlmutter was sacked and I think the sub-company of Marvel Studios was dissolved).

Victoria Alonzo is gone as well. They also announced that the trilogy from Rian Johnson is canceled.

I think Alonzo was sacked last week, wasn’t she? (She is the one suing for discrimination in her firing?). And I thought the Johnson trilogy was canceled months ago.

They (Filoni mostly) greatly improved the Prequels so I'm down for letting them get a crack at putting up anything to make the sequels palatable.

BTW, speaking of stuff that improves the Prequels, anyone not watching The Bad Batch is missing out. Some quality work going there.

I am letting it pile up so I can binge it once it is done. I am excited to watch it.

Even if that's the case, there's a chance that Thrawn could become a major player and that could be interesting.

Yeah, but she freelanced for a competing studio, and showed up for the Oscar's to market their movie. All of this while she was in charge of visual effects, which has been universally panned for all the recent releases. That seems like a solid case for cause to me.

That episode was the Canto Bight of the Mandalorian series.

Disappointed in Bryce, since her episodes had been great before.

They got carried away with the cameos. Jack Black, Lizzo, Clint Howard…. It felt distracted.

That was the first episode of Mandalorian that sucked imo.

Agree. The cameos just took me out of the story too much. As I said earlier, it felt like the entire episode was distracted.

I had started the Mandalorian a while back but didn't get too far before my subscription ended. I just restarted Disney+ recently and am about halfway through season 2. I really like it so far. Are there any other Star War mini-series comparable?

I guess the problem with the cameos is that the whole thing was pointless. If people didnt have to work then surely there would be deep politics in a rich world.

Having the fight to the death happen before the reveal of the Dark Blade switching hands is mind boggling. Having an actual Big Red button to shut down all of society just sitting in the middle of a room is a bit silly. Hard to be invested about the planet when you spend so little time with it. "If I hit this button, everyone will have to get a job" sounds like the premise of a Futurama episode.

This thought just occurred to me…

Did they use Mandalor for Starkiller?
