I guess on the Bonino GWG Martin Jones lost his liquor license.

/Mike Lange is a strange dude.

At least he didn't go hunting moose on a Harley.

Meets all the criteria of a multi game suspension ...
-Marleau could avoided the hit but didn't make any effort to avoid him.
-Rust was in a vulnerable position
-Rust's head was the main point of contact
-hit resulted in an injury
Marleau was quoted as saying he tucked his elbow and shoulder and let Rust skate into him :L He came in from A blind spot. You can see the extension of his leg and his shoulder following through Rusts head. Definitely bad intentions. With the injury should be a suspension. If the league wants to follow their protocol

You forgot a criteria;
- Hit a Penguin

If Marleau had made a considerable effort to avoid the hit, he'd have been in a vulnerable position because the only way he could have avoided it was to dig his right leg/edge in and push to the lef, thus exposing a knee on knee hit. Rust was in a vulnerable position because he reached for the puck, he put himself in that position. And Rust's face was the principle point of contact. Because he bounced it off of Marleau's shoulder. Marleau did tuck his arm down. It looks like he leaned into it because he was protecting his knee.

I would say the same if it was reversed. If the league wants to get rid of these hits. They need to stay consistent. To let a player off due to their name........ Under that stance I'm guessing people would be calling for Sid's head if he ran A shark in the same manner . Marleau will be getting off the hook with out even having the play reviewed

The league wants to get rid of obvious headhunting (ala Orpik) but I don't think this was obvious headhunting. A poorly conceived hit, yes. Not the best idea? True. But headhunting? Not in a million years. This was a hockey incident, with an injury outcome.

The only way to get rid of this hit is to put every player in one of those big clear bubbles.

Wasn't that Bonino call audio recycled from an earlier Bonino goal in the Caps series?

I'm still a salty Pens fan of years past, waiting for the pundits to pick on Pavelski for having a temper tantrum.

Baby Geno arrived today. 7lbs, 1oz. Seriously. Expecting Dad-mode tomorrow.

Insert joke about baby Geno showing up for the playoffs even though his dad did not. ;)

Maybe...

Nice of someone in the Malkin family to show up for the playoffs this year.

You are correct sir and there is a little bit of a funny story to it.

As he told the Lynda Steele Show on CKNW in Vancouver, in his pregame notes for a Penguins’ playoff game against the Washington Capitals, he accidentally listed Bonino’s name for all three forward positions on his line.

Hearing Lovejoy in the middle of the call somehow gave-it a different connotation.
