Just looking at your team avatars, I'm guessing you haven't had that problem in quite some time.(BTW, these feelings obviously don't apply when its MY team... )

Something tells me that those who did pay that weren't poor.I spent last night thinking of those poor saps who paid ten grand to watch that. Yes, I admit I giggled.

meh...opportunities like this come maybe a few times in a lifetime, and in the case of Pittsburgh, not only has a major championship not been won on home turf since 1960, but this was the first opportunity to do so as well since then, so it was exceptionally special. I doubt many were thinking it was a foregone conclusion, but to pass up the opportunity would be even more stupid. I regret that my job kept me from making the jaunt up from FL to be a part of the experience, regardless of the outcome. Its probably because I'm a miserable f**king human being, but...
I love it when fans and a city and a team get all geeked up ready to celebrate as if its a foregone conclusion and then... Have to put it all on ice for another day. LOL!!!
Believe it or not, the northern Shenandoah Valley of Virginia is largely Pittsburgh country and I was semi-shocked at the number of fans that were having parties on a week night etc... in anticipation of the big victory celebration...
So yeah, I sat in my dank dark cavern laughing maniacally at the result of last night's game... muahahahahahahaaaaaaa..

Either that or they are incredibly stupid.
Not at my current salary. If the Leafs were in that position, wouldn't you consider it?
Honestly, I would.

I'd rather have the opportunity than none at all.
Remarkable amount of salt from neutral fans about a fanbase being excited. If I was in town, I probably would've considered going into town. Wouldn't you? Had potential to be a special night. I dont give a rats ass where they win it, but winning in five would be better IMO than any of this extra stress, hah. Also, while I enjoyed watching with my dad...the rest of my family and their comments were just not needed. Game 5 was brutal. "They suck...shoot the puck...are they even trying?"
Again, most towns celebrate downtown regardless of where the game is won... Was Pittsburgh dead after their last Stanley Cup or Super Bowl win? Everyone stayed inside and called each other? That's kind of my fascination with this line of thinking. Its really kind of irrelevant. Just something for the talking heads to chatter about.
No, but just makes the experience a bit more exciting when it's shared like that. Even when it doesn't involve my team, I've always found winning at home to be more fun. There's just something about it.
LOL so did I, but only because I got in my head somehow that yesterday was Sunday. Having Friday off didn't help.Once again genuis boy me was flipping through the channels looking for the game last night.
Lol, I moved stuff around and made sure I could be in front of the TV a little after 8.LOL so did I, but only because I got in my head somehow that yesterday was Sunday. Having Friday off didn't help.
Tribalism.
Everybody grooving to the same beat.
Quite exhilarating.
