I was reserved about it, but this is probably the best have looked in the post season and the worst the Sharks have looked. I think the week off is showing to, Sharks haven't gotten their legs going yet

turns out skating and moving the puck to your teammates and not waiting in your goalie to score goals works wonders for you

Meh, you had to expect the Pens to come out flying at home in that 1st period. 2nd was much better and more indicative of who the Sharks will play this series.

I thought the Sharks played well enough to win tonight. Martin Jones didn't deserve to lose... But seriously what is it going to take for the Sharks to be the ones to win a close game for once late in a game?! I cannot even remember the last time that happened...

Sharks got their assess kicked. I cannot believe they'd played right into the pens hands. They got beat by one or two quick passes on the forecheck and gave up at least a dozen odd man rushes. The whole neutral zone was wiiiiidddeee open, and the pens ate it for breakfast. Minimal pressure on the pens D, and a complete lack of structure. Exactly what I worried about happened. instead of using their size to control the puck, they turned it over a ton, lost the majority of the wall battles, and just stunk. This coulda easily been 6-2 if jones wasnt the #1 star (he shoulda been). The sharks werent ready to play, and just got whopped. Terrible game from big Joe especially. For a guy who had to be jazzed to go, he looked, old, slow, and just bad. He had mutliple giveaways, and just looked poor. Justin Brun also had his worst game of hte year. he was abused all game long, and just looked terrible. He was directly responsible for both of the first two pens goals.

The bad news is they are down 1-0. The good news is Jones looked solid and calm, and the sharks can play 100x better in game 2. A win in game 2 makes it all fine.

Still 25 years of waiting to watch them get dominated for all but maybe 10 minutes of the second period was not what I expected. I really thought they'd answer the opening bell, instead of completely choking.

Pens so far just look faster and getting to more pucks overall. Sharks need to adjust and get that lethal forecheck going.

Looks a little like game 1. The Martin penalty couldn't get the puck out of their zone. They look slow too.
