Stafford will absolutely cost at least one 1st round pick and maybe two. There are desperate bidders out there that will run up the cost.

Understand that if we go after stafford, he is a stop gap. While he has been a capable QB for years, he is one dimensional. This offense really needs a multidimensional QB. You don't need a running QB per se, but you do need a guy that can turn a broken play into a positive with his legs. This is why Ron will not want Stafford at the cost he will bring. Also, the thing about stop gaps is that they only work if you have the heir on the team and you are grooming him. Not sure we do.

The injury thing is not really a concern for me. He missed eight starts a couple of years ago, but besides that he started every game this year and like ten years straight before that. Look it up.

The cost is what concerns me.

I would go 19, our higher 3rd, and Ioannidis.

I would go 19 and a 2nd next year.

Gun to head I may be willing to go 19 and our 2nd this year.

Anything more than that and I pivot to Darnord, Carr, or Fitz.

i am not sure he is a stop gap . he will start for 1/2 a decade but if the injury bug strikes then who knows . stafford can extend plays and he can play under pressure and is known for come backs

Unfortunately I have seen those comebacks first hand. He's done it against us a few times over the years.
He can't really extend plays much anymore. He is basically a pocket passer. He does move around the pocket ok.

the 19th pick should be enough. The Lions should ask for players like Thomas, Allen, or Ionman.

In a vacuum yes, but there are teams that will go after him that have a 1st round pick better than 19.

The Lions might want a first, but that doesntmean that they’re gonna get it.

I wouldnt trade the Lions a first rounder for Stafford.
I’d trade them Collins straight up though. Even throw in a 4th rounder.
The lions would hang up the phone laughing at that offer.

this guy does make some points . ones we havent accepted yet like we are 7-9 and 4 of our wins came vs the NFC east
This is his best point. (Unless it's for Deshaun Watson. If they can get him, forget everything you just read.) Word.

The 19th would be all I’d consider giving and I think they’ll be other teams willing to give more.

The only ones are the 49ers and Pats. I cant see him going there. Maybe the 49ers but they have the 13th pick. They could get Lance there.

Niners, pats, colts, Steelers, I could even see ole jerrah going after him. There’s probably even other teams. He’s a top half of the league qb

The Cowboys are not giving up their first for him. We just have to beat out the 49ers and Pats for him.

You can add Denver to that list and probably the dolphins

Yep. Its absolutely amazing that some posters here think Stafford is attainable w/o having to use the Skins 19th pick.
its wishful thinking on their part

the 49ers are closer to a super bowl then we are in fact just last season they were there . of course they would give up the 13 to get him and then we end up bidding on garrapolo
