OKC dropped to 3-7. They might be in serious trouble when KD, RW and the MASH corps return.

The West is stacked.

Not sure why they tore down the Orange Bowl. I know it was old, but why not just retrofit like USC is doing with the Coliseum? Seems like it would be more cost effective and you keep a historic stadium.

Nothing else was really played there but Canes games.
City felt it wasn't worth the investment.

Then, they build Marlins new stadium on that land ( which is absolutely gorgeous).

On campus stadium isn't realistic for Canes.

What they should do is play their home games in Marlin Stsdium. 30-35k is really all they need for most games, and then play at Sun Life when it's FSU, Gators, or Notre Dame.

As is, it's a hassle for even the students to get there even though free transportation is provided.

Watching the replays at half time and one of those two Leonard steals should not have been as the refs just missed the kicked ball to start the TO.

Damn, Hill cleaned the glass like Mr. Clean. He had 10 rebounds in the first half.

USC games are pretty much all that happens at the Coliseum anymore. How far from Miami's campus is the Orange Bowl? It made perfect sense for USC to pay to retrofit the Coliseum because, while it's technically not on campus, it is literally right across the street. May not have made sense for Miami to do the same with the Orange Bowl if it's too far from campus.

First of all USC can pretty much sell 100,000 tickets a game, correct?

Canes situation is different.
Privately owned so no State funding.

Then, there's only around 15,000 total students ( basically 4000 alumni / year) and the vast majority of them aren't from Miami or had any past ties to the Canes,
As students it's mostly just another reason to party vs really have any passion for the team.

Then, to answer your question, it isn't that close.
Mileage wise it's prob around 10 miles to Orange Bowl, but its a traffic filled 10 miles.
Sun Life is prob 25 miles.

Students can ride a bus for free, but it's no alcohol allowed, so it defeats most of their purposes.
Then, for any start time that isn't a night game, the students roast in the lower bowl.
At half time most games, a lot start heading out.

USC is private as well. But like you say, they also draw well (especially with no NFL franchises to compete with).

It made sense for USC because of the Coliseum being literally across the street. USC uses it for everything from football games to graduation ceremonies, so they will eventually get their money's worth.

Definitely wouldn't make sense for Miami to spend that kind of money for something that would be pretty much only used for a few Saturdays a year. It's a shame SunLife isn't a nicer venue.

Hubie Brown was right, Kobe's gotta be in the post to get his shot to start falling. He's one of the best post up SG's in the NBA.

Yeah, get close to the hoop, get a couple of fairly easy one's to fall and work your way out from there. A buddy of mine who was a pretty good college player swore by that and used to even do his pre-game warmups that way.

There's the first for Kobe. The Lakers are shooting in the horrible range.
