@Lake Shore Drive - just a reminder the Sox have already thrown away Crochet's year of control. Vaughn figures to be the only contract in this year's class.

Also - faced with paying $13,000,000 for a DH for one year - and potentially bringing up Vaughn later in the year - the dollars begin to make sense to go ahead and spend the extra year of control.

Hey, count me in among those who feel if the Sox are committed to go with Vaughn early, then WTF, why mess around and not start him right out of the gate. My predictions or guesses don't always match my wishes. This is one of those.

Three items of note from the 6 inning pre-season game against the Brewers. Adam Engle hit a HR against the wind, Andrew Vaughn walked twice in 4 ABs, and there were White Sox fans dotted all over Camelback Ranch.

We might attend a game there later in the preseason. We're scheduled to receive our 2nd vaccine shot on the 12th, so we'll feel a lot more confident about travelling around thereafter. We'd of course continue to take the requisite precautions - face masks and keeping a relatively safe distance from others, and a BIG distance from anyone not wearing a mask. We're still kicking the idea around.

The Sox drew squares on the outfield berm for pods of people to sit and picnic in - while the stands were roped off into their own pods. It looked pretty safe to me. I hope you guys get to a game.
