Which goes right back to my original argument. These polls don't mean shit this early in the season because there is not enough data to measure accurately.

You say you cna't measure them against an FCS school? So you throw out the Charleston Southern and rank them by their win over Louisiana Monroe?

My argument to him was exactly your argument to me. There is not enough data to measure therefore I could not rank them. When they go play Oklahoma we will have something (even though okie has only played Tulsa). Still little but there will be data. But not now.

Tulsa is actually a pretty good team and is much better than Boston College.

Here are mine. I don't hold much to polls this early in the year because I believe there is a lot of bias. I tried to go strictly off this years schedule.

In doing so let me point out. Florida State has not played anyone to be ranked top 10.

Oklahoma has only played one game and to a non-aq. Not tested enough to be number 1 any later than pre-season.

Not really comfortable with Nebraska Top 10 but don't really see anyone to put above them right now. Give me an argument I can accept and I'll drop them.

besides the Michigan schools being a bit high, his rankings are pretty good

if you really want to be picky you could say there's no reason to rank West Virginia but everyone else seems to be ranking them.

don't underestimate SMU, sir, they're a pretty solid team and A&M smacked them.

SMU is probably better than the UCF team you ranked.

Top Tier

1) Oklahoma - They're here until they prove me otherwise
2) LSU - I should have had these guys here after week 1. They're legit.
3) Boise State - Georgia is better than I thought....thus, so is Boise.
4) Alabama - Very solid, but Penn State is not very good IMO.Need to see more.
5) Wisconsin - Dominant. Could be top 4, maybe top 3.
6) Oklahoma State - This is a good team. Should be considered a NC contender.
7) Texas A&M - Obviously need to see more, but they seem to be in good shape.

Middle Tier

8) Baylor - I don't care what anyone says. Nobody can tell me right now that anyone else beyond those 7 ^ is better. So this is my pick.
9) Oregon - Can't sleep on them. Too much talent.
10) Florida State - Cuz I don't know where else to put them at this point.
11) Stanford - Obviously the ability to score some points, but I think Oregon is better.
12) Arkansas - Has looked dominant against cream puffs.....will see in the very near future how good they really are.
13) Auburn - I'm putting them here because they yet again found a way to get it done. They seem to be that kind of team.
14) Virginia Tech - Another one of those teams who finds a way to win. Always solid on D/ST.
15) West Virginia - Just a gut feeling. They can put up points in a hurry.

Bottom Tier

16) TCU - Still pretty good. Baylor is better than people think.
17) UCF - BC might not be very good, but they still destroyed them.
18) Georgia - Surprise? I told you all I will vote this week on how I think teams really are. Georgia really is better than South Carolina.
19) Mississippi State - Can't knock them too much, they barely lost to what appears to be an ok team.
20) South Carolina - They need to play better than that. Good fortune will only take you so far.
21) Maryland - Need to see more obviously, but they have the tools.
22) Ohio State - How bad is Toledo? Probably not that bad. Buckeyes have issues though.
23) Nebraska - I can't honestly sit here and say I know for sure we'd beat any of the teams on the list above ^ at this point.
24) Northwestern - They should be able to fight for wins this year. Will upset someone.
25) Iowa State - They will beat UCONN and Texas and move to 4-0. At that point they will get votes, but they will get destroyed by Baylor. Still, I'm rewarding them for always fighting hard, and for beating Iowa.
