I saw that sir, but there's no telling whether they wanted them submitted for the actual SportsHoopla poll, and I'm sure a good few of them weren't serious

Well I have no idea how it can be done without spending hours, so I'm out.

Oh come on, it's not that hard!

1) start by getting a voka drank & converting each individual's list into an ASCII file.
2) Convert the file into Excel or Lotus 1-2-3.
3) create separate, linked tabs for each list.
4) create formulas that automatically tabulate the number of times each team is listed.
5) go back and add tabs for the lists you forgot, or for that doofus who got his in at the last minute and was all "please, please let my list in!"
6) Realize that the formulas you created are not correct and you get a ton of #REF! crap on the tally tab.
7) Click on "help"
8) Twiddle thumbs while waiting for Help to appear
9) Get bored waiting for Help, start surfing other SportsHoopla threads
10) get into massive poo-fling with Texas fans over whether or not 2009 Bama would have beaten the 1918 Longhorns
11) See Help pop up, return to Excel sheet
12) refresh your voka drank
13) type in 13 different re-phrasings of "formula not working," give up.
14) start randomly searching through the menus at the top of the page and asking "what does THIS do?"
15) lose entire document and repeat steps 1-14
16) switch to whiskey
17) start hand-tallying 47 different lists
18) keep making the same mistake and ending up three votes short on the grand total
19) switch to beer
20) pass out
21) come back next day and say, "I'll do it, but I need mod status and some Vcash."

Whats the deal with the A&M love?? I mean their D sucked and they lost their 3 best offensive pieces. I dont get it at all. I think they are 5-7, 6-6 type team.

All I'm saying is take a chance on being wrong. The safe answer is usually not a winning answer. We can compare top 25's at the end of the year and see who was closest any day. I'm not afraid at all.

Ah....so you're compiling a poll to be used at year's end?

I thought pre-season polls were more or less based on where teams stack up prior to the season starting.

I suck at this... :/

Nope, this is my preseason poll. I'm just saying I doubt I'm any more off by the end of the year than anyone else.

Thats what a lot of people think. To me that makes no damn sense. A preseason Top 25 should be how good you think teams will do this year. Otherwise you should just rank them exactly where they finished last year. I can promise you no one has seen any meaningful football in order to change last years season end rankings so if you are not basing it off of where you think teams will finish then what the hell are you basing it on??
