Look at some advanced metrics, he wasn't as bad on D as some thought.

My guess is though when he is bad, it's really ugly. He is probably also propped up by his rebounding numbers.

If you go back and look at clips, his perimeter defense is pretty bad.

I'm always hesitant when college players can't elevate their teams, but Ayton will be the 3rd #1 pick in a row which really couldn't help his team win.

And Simmons has proved so far to be a great NBA player.

Advanced offensively skilled player with ability to score at the rim and with range all the way out to the (college) 3 point line.

Wants to take the Big shot and was a matchup nightmare at the college level. Was actually somewhat underutilized at Duke.

Based on production, deserving of the first pick, but a few other guys probably have higher ceilings.

I think the 3pt shot right now is slightly overstated based on his FT% (below 70%).

But he at least is a threat out there.

He's a weird guy. He's a freak athlete but he doesn't seem to use it. He plays a lot slower than you'd expect.

His team was a 4 seed and some off the court distractions to deal with. Yes they did get upset in the tourney but comparing that to Fultz or Simmons is a little unfair.

He was also with a historically much better basketball program in Arizona than LSU or Washington.

To be fair, he is keeping a tally in the first post of this thread, but you are right that bifurcation (pick vs. comments) is never a bad thing.

This guy I know a little bit about.

Redshirt junior with four years of experience and he improved immensely every year.

His staple is going to be team defense, guarding on the perimeter, and disrupting passing lanes.

He has improved his shooting and will work to improve more.

Already more valuable overall than Korver or Smith, though Smith provides streak shooting that few players can match when he's on.

He's a perfect fit if Bron stays, but if he goes you are selling a little low in the upside department of a draft that has quite a bit of it.

If Porter’s records are clean my first option would be Porter then Carter. I doubt either fall to the Cavs. So, it’s Young, Bridges or Sexton. Not too high on both those point guards. I like Bridges defense and outside game
